StormPay info… !?

Hello,

I’ve seen a lot of adult websites use StormPay but in the ‘user agreement’ it’s written:

You may not use StormPay to send or receive payments for any “adult” or “sexually oriented” materials or services.

What do you think?
Do you use it the same?
Let me know… until now I used iKobo but I have to change system for the new policy…? 🙁

I have to admit that I have only heard bad, negative and crap feedback about stormpay/beaverpay and whatever other name they call themselves.Â I wouldnt touch them with a barge-pole with or without their policies.

I know Darcy used to accept them but packed them in too. Never bothered with them but apparently you can’t transfer funds out of your Stormpay account so can only use your them where Stormpay is accepted. Pretty useless really as no one accepts them.

Same as Cindy, I would poke em’ with a stick if they are um’ing and ar’ing over accepting adult related items. They’ll only screw up your site in a couple of months when they ban adult products.

Have noticed that it’s always American payment processors that drop the adult thing like a hot brick…LISTEN UP NOCHEX YOU BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE….WE NEED HELP!Â :kiss:

why not try moneybookers.com, they have a adult only section aswell as a standard! just like paypal, nochex and all the rest!

I have a moneybookers account but I didnt know anyone else who knew them or even had an account with them, so I didnt offer the option to pay that way any longer!

I just received my first few payments via PPPay.com and I must say, so far, Im WELL impressed!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

I have an account with MoneyBookers and it works fine.
But it hasn’t a shopping cart like iKobo…

Whatever MoneyBookers accepts almost ALL credit cards, iKobo only Visa!

Well we cant continue to use iKobo anyway soon because of the nature of our business.Â With Moneybookers, I remember now why I didnt use them .. it seems they want everything but my BLOOD to sign up .. copies of bills, passport, credit card (both sides) … I dont mind signing up for somewhere but blimey that was too much – and if its too much for me then its too much for my clients!

I still like PPPay – they are so cool .. very similar to Nochex in alot of ways 🙂 .. I just hope they stay accepting adult sites!Â B)

All that info, passprot, business details etc is because you are signing up to(trying) erotic.moneybookers.com, miss the erotic part (www.money…) and you’ll just have to give the sme details as paypal or any other. you sill still be covered by the erotic rules & reg’s aswell!Â 😉

The solution is to install your own shopping cart..it took me a while but I found a FREE one that I was able to dumb-down easily enough (the problem with most of them was they were too darn complicated for our purposes); it’s called Commerce.cgi and here’s their site http://commerce-cgi.com/index.shtml? It looks JUST LIKE the payment processor’s carts, but it can be modified to just take the order and? email it to you, at which point you send along a payment request from whatever processor your customer is already signed up with, or make other arrangements if you want.? I had to fiddle with it quite a bit to get it how I wanted it;? I will happily send you the very detailed notes I kept on this (i didn’t want to forget in case I had to do it again!)

It seems rare today to find a hosting company that doesn’t provide some scripts with your hosting account. Before you sweat out an installation on your own. make sure you explore your cpanel or web site administration area or ask your host. If a shopping cart script is already on your server, it may be as simple as clicking a link to have it automatically installed.Â JO

My host, Lunarpages (which BTW has me more impressed the longer I’m with them) does offer several shopping cart scripts, all of which were really easy to install, but all of which were waaay too over-powered for what I (and I think most panty-girls?) needed.? It was like learning a programming language just to get them to work for me!? I literally thought it was going to be easier to teach myself javascript & write one myself than to install a pre-scripted shopping cart.? Until I found this one.? It was a wee bit harder to install (I had to download & unzip the files on my home pc, then upload them to my server) but about ten bajillion times easier to hack into what I needed.

And Laura, when I say very detailed notes I mean it – you could follow them like a recipie to do what I did, and if you go take a look at my shop http://www.chateau-cherie.com/cgi/ and see how it’s similar to/different from what you want to do I’ll be happy to help you modify it for your needs.? This goes for anybody else too.? We have enough to deal with just trying to find a processor to work with, it’s completely ridiculous for us to have to rewrite our sites every time we need to make a change!

My shop is set up for maximum simplicity but the original script has a bunch more features, and it’s got plenty of hacks other people have already written, including one for nochex.

p.s.? PK, I like to think you & Amy’d be impressed by my xhtml…I’m a newbie but a very firm believer in KISS and I think I’ve done a pretty damn good job with my limited skills, especially in making my site super-easy to update
