The interesting part in this article is the following:

So incensed over his fine, Mr Lynch put $206 in small change into a plastic bag, soaked it in his own urine, put it in a box and then posted it to the payments division of the Multnomah County courthouse!

Post room staff handed over the box (and the very angry letter that accompanied it) to the police. “It was nasty. It reeked,” said Sgt. Phil Anderchuk.

Anderchuk called a U.S. postal inspector to see if any federal laws had been broken and learned that it’s not against the law to mail a box of bodily fluids…as long as it’s properly packed and doesn’t emit an obnoxious smell!

This reminds me of a friend of mine who got a speeding ticket, and paid the £60 fine in 50 cheques all made out for random amounts… this was 6 months ago, He’s still waiting for them to clear!

If the cheques were made out over 6 months ago then they will be invalid now. I’m pretty sure that the speeding ticket may be too now if they haven’t processed payment. Worth looking into.
