Hi Ladies,
I wanted to know what you thought about this.
My boyfriend and I went out to dinner with my roommate and her boyfriend. Now, when my BF and I are together I think it’s pretty obvious we are a couple (we hold hands, occasionally kiss, smile and joke a lot). But my roommate and her BF were another matter entirely.
When they weren’t busy fussing over each other like a married couple (“do you want some more of this?” “if you’re full you don’t have to eat it” “don’t you have to go to the washroom?”) they were busy being very lovey-dovey, cuddly, coochie-coo etc. (I got nauseated). It’ll be a while before we double date again.
So I was curious… When you’re with your man, are you the lovey-dovey type, a bit more reserved, or so reserved that people wouldn’t even guess you were lovers? And do you think how you behave as a couple (in public) has any significance?
Karen 🙂
September 14, 2005 at 10:22 am #4046cherieMemberHow are we in public?? It depends…did we just have sex?? And how good was it?? ?:cheer:
I have to say that we’re a lot less touchy-feely now than we were before we had kids!? I guess now we know where it leads.?

CherieSeptember 14, 2005 at 1:49 pm #4049Cindy_PantyParadiseMemberme and my partner have been with each other for about 7 years and are just mates. no touchy feely, no sex either for that matter (thank heavens for my site). But it works and he is a good companion.
My last partner was all about sex and when that stopped we had absolutely nothing else in common. I chose someone I could talk to and have a laugh with – which for me personally is more important that being fucked 24/7 anytime, anywhere.
Couples that are all over each other make me cringe too – holding hands etc is fine but all the other stuff (overly attentiveness) just seems so superficial you start to wonder if there is an underlying problem somewhere in the relationship and its all just a front?!?!
If my other half started cooing like a wet lettuce over me Id def think theres a problem.. however in saying that when I broke my toe recently, he was a little bit pathetic but nothing I couldnt handle. I thought that it was more sweet than nauseous. LOL
…dont get me wrong, I love a good hug and a cuddle but when you dont get them much you just accept it and if things suddenly change then the frowny face appears lol
..double dates – yuk! Been there, done that too Karen – its almost embarrasing!

I volunteer to come over and give you some cuddles (and some “norty” fun!)Â smt
September 21, 2005 at 7:44 am #4161cherieMemberOoooh, cuddling Cindy, what a nice idea… smt
I agree with you completely Cindy…whether you’ll still enjoy talking to each other when you’re too old to get up out of the rocking chair is more important than constant screwing.
On the other hand, I fully intend to keep screwing until I die.? ?;)
It does seem like the obnoxiously clingy couples are masking something, doesn’t it?? Either attempting to gloss over some problem in the relationship or just kind of one-upping everybody else with the “Look at us, we’re so in love!” shtick.

It does seem like it’s one thing for teenagers to be like that; quite another thing for grown men and women to be like that.
