Hi everyone. My site’s been up for a couple weeks, so I’m still learning a lot and trying to get feedback. I was just wondering if it’s better to have pictures of the actual items I’m selling so someone could email me and tell me they want item # whatever. I don’t have that right now because I thought it would be nicer for buyers if they could tell me they want a black g-string or a pink booty short and then I’d wear that for them.
I’m just wondering b/c I’m having a pretty slow start, which I’m sure is probably normal since I’m new and no one really knows me yet. But I was just curious if it might encourage people to contact me if they see the actual item they’d be receiving. I know a lot of other sites do this.
Feedback from sellers and buyers is appreciated, and any other tips as well.
Thanks!January 15, 2006 at 11:13 pm #5789skunkplantMemberHi Kacie,
Almost certainly I reckon. Tho it is nice to ask and I’m sure some customers will email and specify a style….. you just can’t beat seeing what you’re getting!
In fact on a few sites there have been people who just have pics of the item, but again I still think it adds a lot if the seller is modelling them too!! Need only be a small sample pic.. no need to give away your best shots!
Hope this helps a little and good luck…. shalll enjoy checking out your site!

I have to agree that you must have a photo of the item you are selling. It does help if you model them too when you are starting up.
However, after years of selling and taking pictures, you will find that this will be your full time job of just taking pictures of yourself.
I take photos every day for clients of me wearing their items, so I don’t now need to also take more photos of me wearing the panty beforehand to put up on my site and then its sold within a few days, and then I have to take more pics, then its sold, then more pics, then its sold. It is a ALOT of work, which most new sellers and buyers just do not understand.
If you are new and not too busy then I have to agree that photos of yourself modelling the panties is the best way to go, but having a pic of the panties you are selling, even if you dont model them for your site, is an absolute must.
As you become established you might find that you don’t need to spend hours taking endless photos of yourself modelling them, especially when they will sell anyway – plus you will probably be taking more photos of yourself in them for the buyer.
Get yourself a little digital camera Kacie 🙂

January 17, 2006 at 12:08 am #5799tastykacieMemberThanks so much for the advice. I was wondering if that was the way to go. I’ll probably redo my site this weekend to include the actual items I’m selling and leave a note about special style requests.
I’d looked around at this site a lot before I started my own, so I did get a lot of pointers and knew it would take work to get it going. Glad I decided to start it when I was on winter break! I do have a digital camera, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to get some pics. I’m still learning which poses work for the item to show it off and still be sexy, so I probably take double the pics I need just in case some aren’t that great.
I’m so glad I asked because I guess I didn’t realize the actual item pic was so important as a preview.January 27, 2006 at 5:27 am #5985neighbornikkiMemberI am new also and I really enjoy it but I find myself using my best pics and taking tons of them. As you sell more is it less demanding? Does anyone have an idea of the most wanted view (from buyers perspective) for example; is a profile less attractive that a open crotch shot? Is it better to just show the worn panties? I try to include many for all and I am amazed at how many pictures I have taken and I just started. BTW my first auction was posted tonight on e-banned! I’m so excited!
January 27, 2006 at 12:42 pm #5987KroozeMemberKacie, YES!!!!!! The pics of the actual item will help sales and the best way to display the item is on you. There are a few panty sellers that can’t be trusted (Sorry but it’s true) and the best way to show that you’re you is to model the product for sale.
Nikki, hello and welcome. Most, if not all, of your questions were pretty much answered in Cindy’s post just a couple posts before your’s. I have to say that varied poses will get more bidding attention.
I think when sellers start out they try to find some magic formula for selling and they narrow the focus too much. If you put a behind shot AND a profile AND an open crotch shot into the mix, then they appeal to all as opposed to looking for one type of shot that will get the most attention.
Also, as you get more practise taking the pics it will be easier to get the shots you want with less ‘not-so-good’ pics. If you have a remote or timer, put a mirror by the camera so it’s easy to see your pose before the shot’s taken.
Good luck and many happy customers to all!!!

January 28, 2006 at 9:05 am #5994neighbornikkiMemberI’m sorry…new hear and was reading down not up…sorry and thanks for the welcome.
January 28, 2006 at 11:35 pm #5998tastykacieMemberThanks for that tip about the mirror. I don’t have a timer right now, just a roommate who I can convince with alcohol. So we’ve been doing the basic front and back shots. But I’ll try to vary in the future. I’ll have to look into how much timers cost.
