So I’ve noticed something about voting:I have 3 people in my house..me, my sister and her hubby.? ?But, because we’re all on the same internet connection, there can only be ONE VOTE PER HOUSEHOLD each day.? ?Each one of us can’t cast a vote, despite the fact that we have our own computers and of course, unique IP addresses.? ?Just an FYI in case anyone is running into the same thing – I realize we have a unique situation here, but I doubt we’re the only ones :)? ?
:ohmy:Â I thought you could only vote if you were a member…Â So wouldn’t it be one vote per day per PHog account?
December 4, 2005 at 11:56 pm #5255AnonymousGuestI thought it was changed so you didnt have to be a member to vote? If you do have to be a member then that could be why sis couldn’t vote – I’m sure she didnt register…at least if she did she didnt tell me she did
December 5, 2005 at 6:30 am #5257adminKeymasterYou do not have to be a member to vote. The voting script does check several variables to keep track of voting. If you are all using the same internet connection, you would actually have the same IP address. Even if each computer on your home network is identified with a separate IP address for the home network, all the computers in your home network are still connecting to the internet through one central point. So when the voting scripts runs through its checks, it sees that IP address as already having voted. Yes, this stinks in your case, and I could disable the IP checking, but I think the IP address check is important to keep the voting secure. Unfortunately, yours is one valid reason why someone would need to vote more than once per IP.?? Hmmm….
December 5, 2005 at 9:37 am #5260Cindy_PantyParadiseMemberI have 4 people in my household (incuding me) and will be 5 from next week until mid January and none of them will be voting either.
I assumed that nominees and their families were anyway exempt from voting until PK told me it was OK. Maybe PK should reinforce that law because opening up the cheat software will create Mary Hell!
I guess most people have more than one person in a household anyway.
I send a “double trouble panty pack” to a pair of twin brothers every month who also live together but they also can only vote once a day for me.However, I guess people can use an internet cafe somewhere in town too, if they feel that the rules are not justified.
What do others think? Should the nominees and their families be exempt from voting when it seems to be posing a potential problem?
Maybe we should run a poll? PK?

December 5, 2005 at 11:38 am #5261chandiespantiesMember(Quoted from Contest Description) Nominees for the Golden Panty Award are nominated by their peers and/or fans for having shown exemplary attention to customer service, provided quality products, offered assistance to others, and for having contributed to the general betterment of the used panty community throughout the past year.
I guess I was under the impression that the award was for customer service, and quality products. Which can only be determined by past clients or fans. 🙂
I don’t think the winner should be determined by who has the largest family or group of girlfriends. Votes should be given by those who have had experience with the nominees products or services.
That’s just my opinion…Â 😉
I do agree though that you need to keep IP tracking and etc… to keep voting fare.

Love CindsxDecember 5, 2005 at 1:30 pm #5263Delicious_JessMemberPlease don’t remove the IP detector. I go to college and could ask the whole class to vote for me on the 50 or so different computers, but I want to do ok on my merit not because I can just get lots of people to vote who don’t know me panty-wise. It’d be a hollow win then wouldn’t it? Imagine winning by one vote, but you got your whole family and oodles of friends to vote everyday….you haven’t really won have you?
I never really thought about getting anyone other than a customer to vote, pretty sad about that actually  I’m not even voting for myself, god I could do that everyday couldn’t I? I’d much rather not win anything but know that if I get 10 votes that they’re from happy customers. I only want votes from those who think I do a good job or that they think I’m an acceptional panty girl, not for any other reason.

smtDecember 5, 2005 at 1:46 pm #5264AnonymousGuestI’m not trying to get every “tom, dick and harry” to vote..I agree that wouldnt be fair.? ?Consider this viewpoint- I think it is fair for my sister to vote – she sees everything I put into my business–all the extra stuff I buy for packages, all the auctions, all the packages stuffed in the mailbox and carted to the PO – and of course, there’s all the times I kick her out of the photo studio (the basement) so I can make videos, take pictures, etc.? A few times I have even turned down an invite for a movie or something fun, because I had panty business to take care of – and it comes first. So it’s not like I said, out of the blue with her having no clue “Hey, there’s this contest, I need you to vote for me!”? ?:kiss:Â
I do believe now that the IP address part of voting should be kept in place. Otherwise, it would be chaos and ultimately, not fair. I don’t know anything about PC networking, so I didnt understand the logistics of it. I appreciate the explanation.
December 6, 2005 at 10:19 pm #5280asseaterMemberAs I read it, the contest is about
- seller of great panties
- great customer service
- helpful and giving to the used panty community
So you should have your customers voting. But other panty sellers and people that know you can vote too. You don’t have to have bought some one’s panties to see the nice things they’ve done for others. If a sister, brother, or friend knows this about you, they should vote. As far as voting yourself…hell yes you should. Who else better to? B)
December 21, 2005 at 11:16 pm #5492BubbaTechMemberI think That you should decide for yourself, If you would like to vote for yourself once, twice, or everyday, that is your decision.
Just stay within the rules, I agree that to track ip addresses is the best policy, to prevent people from using multiple sign ins to run the vote up.
can non-members vote?? just wondering??
thanks
Bubba

January 12, 2006 at 5:35 pm #5754asseaterMemberI have been asked (dared really) to perform my now famous “act” during the awards get together in the chatroom. I will not do so. I am only interested in sharing the experience with those that want to watch. 🙂
January 12, 2006 at 6:57 pm #5755leatherznzpiceMemberGood call asseater 🙂
I think the Award Ceremony on Sunday is really an occasion for the Ladies who were nominated and, of course, for us all to find out who the winners of the first Golden Panty Awards are.
