I think he actually agreed to go ahead with one of these and then pulled out at the last minute. What evidently happens is that there is a catch. You have to give them a certain amount of your own money to receive their millions, however, they suddenly disappear and you dont ever see your money – none of it!
..sorry to be a wet blanket – but if anyone gets these, it is just a scam (unfortunately).

MemberYeah 20/20 or Dateline recently did a story on this. Getting taken for your money is the best scenario. They said that some people have flown to actually meet the scammers and have been met by violent thugs. One guy was left for dead. Not cool in the least. Hopefully by now everyone knows these emails are a con.

Oh the variations on the advanced fee fraud aka the Nigerian Scam or 419 scam, I used to about 10 a day to my yahoo email lmao
It is indeed a scam Cindy and Clark, but the variations in them are wonderfully inventive. Some people have taken up the sport of baiting these scammers and entering into email correspondence with them and getting them to send pictures of themselves holding silly signs etc etc see this site for examples Baiting the Scammers :cheer:
If you do get these type of emails, read them, laugh out loud and delete .. or bait them of course HAHAHAHA

I have heard about these things for years (I’m a regular visitor at snopes.com) but I actually just received my very first example of the NIgerian scam this January. I feel like I’ve joined a priviliged club now, hehehe :laugh:
