just a suggestion to those who havent already thought of it, and have loads of amazon vouchers with nothing to spend them on..you can always get cash from them by selling them on ebay…they sell very well, and altho you wont get the full price, youll prolly get £14 ish for a £15 voucher, so only losing £1 is a pretty good deal if you really need the cash instead of gifts. the easiest way to do it is when you get the claim code emailed to you, just keep it and dont claim, then advertise your vouchers on ebay as ‘by email’ then you simply email the winning bidder the claim code…simple!!
September 11, 2006 at 8:44 am #10122AnnaMemberGood idea Kelly, I’ve heard of that too. I just love choosing stuff with my vouchers though smt
September 11, 2006 at 8:52 am #10124AnonymousGuestGreat idea. People always want to send me a voucher, but getting items from amazon sent to my country is a pain. 🙂

September 11, 2006 at 11:53 pm #10139tastykacieMemberI thought you had to be using the email address the claim code got sent to in order for it to be activated. Or am I confused?

I thought you had to be using the email address the claim code got sent to in order for it to be activated. Or am I confused?I get my certificates sent to both my email addresses and I can use both no problem on my Amazon account. It’s the code that counts.Â
September 12, 2006 at 7:20 am #10141kellyamiinaMemberok now ive confused myself  ok one person told me to do what i already said in earlier post, now someone else that sells them has said u have to claim them first then use the order number ( which i think u may have to ask amazon for) Anna, do you mean you get your sent sometimes to an email address thats not registered with amazon? then you just use the claim code in your amazon account, if so, then my fist idea must work 🙂 maybe ill test it too!
September 12, 2006 at 8:10 am #10142Cindy_PantyParadiseMemberAnna is right. It is ONLY the claim code you need.
For example anyone can send a gift certificate to ANY email address. The email address of who you send it to is totally irrelevant to the person’s Amazon account.
In this “gift certificate email” is a special Claim Code. The receiver logs into his/her Amazon account and goes to “My Account” then clicks on “Apply Gift Certificate”.
There the receiver only needs to enter the actual CODE that was in the email message.
Bingo, the gift certificate is on that persons account 🙂
September 12, 2006 at 8:30 am #10143kellyamiinaMemberThanks Cindy. thats what i thought 🙂
September 13, 2006 at 12:52 am #10150tastykacieMemberThat’s really good to know. Thanks!
September 13, 2006 at 9:43 am #10158kellyamiinaMemberok i have a question…im in the UK..if someone who is in another country, goes to the amazon.co.uk and pays for vouchers in pounds, can i still use them in my account?
September 13, 2006 at 11:24 am #10159AnnaMemberIf someone orders vouchers from amazon.co.uk they’ll automatically be in £££s so you can spend them on amazon.co.uk, regardless of which country they are actually in themselves. The important thing is that they go to amazon.co.uk. I assume that the currency conversion stuff is done through amazon and the buyers credit card company.
If a US buyer went to amazon.com to send you a certificate you’d get it in $$$s and you’d have to spend your $$$s on amazon.com, and then pay the tax when your goodies enter this country and also the Royal Mail handling charge madÂ
Amazon gift certs aren’t transferrable between their sites. The same applies if a German buyer pays by online cert, them going to amazon.de to send one to you in €€€s is no good as a UK seller.
So all you need to do is ensure that whoever wants to buy you gift certs does so from amazon.co.uk.
The best thing to do is stick a link on your site to the amazon.co.uk online gift certificate page like I have to point your buyers in the right direction.
September 14, 2006 at 12:04 pm #10179chubbilypantiesMemberOh, what a good point! Thanks a ton, KElly!
September 14, 2006 at 1:42 pm #10183kellyamiinaMemberyour welcome chubbily! 🙂 obviously you are gonna lose a bit of money on them..but £40 cash to me is much more useful than £50 amazon vouchers!
December 7, 2006 at 11:14 am #11102FetishKittenMemberI like Amazon vouchers as a form of payment, it means i’m not tempted to spend my panties money on bills…
Even though its better spent on bills I can buy goodies and luxuries that i wouldnt normally afford. -
