Best places to advertise, take 2

Since the discussion in the other thread has grown to 3 pages of comments about Panty Trust? :laugh:? I’m asking again, where have ya’ll found to be good places to get the word out about your used panty sales and/or website?

After that I guess it’s google (watch out for click fraud if you’re using google ads), maybe yahoo but who uses yahoo for search .. honestly now, the search results on yahoo are BS lmao

I had a big HUGE jump in my number of visitors right after Jane’s Guide (finally, after three submissions!) reviewed me, even though they didn’t give me such a great rating.  And it only lasted a couple of days.

I cannot, however, say that I’ve had any increase in sales from it.

I also sent my site in to the reviewer at Leg Show magazine and got a stellar review there (and I’m to be included in her “Best of 2005” too, yay!), and saw a smaller but persistent increase in visitors.

I was hesitant about signing up with PantyDraw; as I recall they asked not only for a front page reciprocal link (which I would have been ok with), but ALSO for my real name & address (which I was NOT ok with!)  Are they still doing that?  I briefly looked in on them again t’other day and left when I saw that I don’t qualify for their Top Drawer anymore as my site is now a subscription site and I’ve only got one page devoted to panty sales (they want 60% of the site to be devoted to panty sales).

I’m just entering the world of linking and it’s infuriating! Don’t read on if you dislike rants…..

I’ve just tried Panty Source. I filled out the form, resized a pic so that they didn’t have to do it, made a page uploaded it all, only to find it’s broke and the contact button isn’t a contact button it takes you around in a circle! I don’t think they want anymore girls  :huh:

I’ve contacted a site wanting to talk about paying to have a banner on there, only for them to rudely ignore me. They’re obviously rolling in money and don’t need it.

I’ve had the most stupid BLIND (see BIG words so you can see it; B L I N D !) webmasters visit my site saying they can’t find their links….it’s there, how can you miss it!! Oooo! I’m getting mighty ticked off over having to adjust everything, create pages and resize pics only for a someone with an eye problem claim he can’t see it. I’m not exactly packed am I??  mad

Is it me? Does my site suck that much?  :blush:

Featured auction listing to be featured with the other 50 featured auctions ($10.00), banner ad way down at the very, very bottom of someone’s site ($20.00), absolutely free of charge news item smack dab in the middle of Panty Hog’s front page…priceless (sorry Mastercard? :laugh:).

Actually, it seems Phog reaches quite a few potential buyers and for the price, I think it’s the best advertising you can get! I don’t know if being in some panty web ring might bring a few buyers around. So much of it is a crap shoot!

I think sometimes you just have to try things and see if they work for you. What works for one seller might not work for another and you might not ever figure out why that is.

I take it that being messed about is the norm then. It baffles me because they need you as much as you need them so what do they get from messing you about?

I also looked at eBanned’s advertising system. You have to pay them an extra $5 just for them to host the banner on their own server  :huh: That’s new one for me!

It’s worth remembering a couple of things about google and how some “divas” may seem too demanding. Since they changed their algorithms to weigh PR more heavily than content it’s become incredibly difficult to get placed highly. “Used panties” is searched for about 20,000 times a month and returns over 2 million results. So getting on even the first 2 or 3 pages takes a lot of hard work.

So some site owners who rely heavily on search engines for their business are understandably reluctant to do anything to damage their hard won ranking. And there is a lot of evidence to suggest that linking to sites with low PR damages your own PR.

As for Ebanned… it’s a business. And it’s also the Ebay of adult auctions. So rightly or wrongly they charge a little more to advertize. But your banner is going to get seen a lot.

Anyway, let me know if you want to link exchange! (Unless you think I’m one of those divas you mentioned :P)
