Black holes to swallow the earth Wednesday

On Wednesday the Hadron Collider will be fired up. Some say the earth will be swallowed by microscopic black holes. Anyone worried? :laugh:

There’s the wiki on it! Personally, I find pieces of technology like that amazing. I’m not aware of accidents involving them, like there are with nuclear plants and chemical plants, i.e Bhopal, Chernobyl.

Actually, I’m excited about it as well. I hope they find some interesting things.

People being worried about the black holes is for real though. Groups are actually fighting in the courts in the US and Europe to try and prevent them from pushing the “On” button tomorrow.

I’m sure we’ll be just fine. Then again, I’m not a physicist so don’t hold me to it if the world ends tomorrow. 😉
