I received an order today, everything was filled out correctly, including an address.  I tried to e-mail the client back to confirm his order, but the e-mail address bounced back.

I don’t know what to do…any tips on how to avoid this happening in the future (I suspect he simply entered his e-mail address incorrectly as the street address was filled in).

And what should I do about this particular client? Should I post an announcement on my site stating that Mr X’s e-mail bounced in the hope he’ll come back and contact me.  Or should I just wait….I’m a little stuck..please help!

Usually its another seller or someone testing out your forms.  Id let it go, if it was a buyer, chances are he will get back to you again. Keep the order in a pending folder or something for now … if you feel it is a potential buyer you could put a message on your site but to be honest, this is pretty normal behaviour.

Thank you Cindy.  I feel much better knowing it’s normal.  I just don’t like letting people down or not getting back to people.  🙁

    Thanks again.  smt

You could always put something on your site to say if you don’t reply within 2 or 3 days (whatever) that they can assume you never got the order or were unable to reply. I often get mistyped email addresses on orders too. Just one of those things.
