Hi everyone, I wanted to write my first post to just say hi and came across this one, well I thought just gotta add to it. My husband is a designer and developer, he makes sites and hosts and deals with domain registrations. He says that it is quite usual for a developer to also purchase the domain as for hosting a site is sometimes not possible if a domain is registered with another company. He is quoting for this BTW. As for theft of content, it is a sign that others can’t better what you have already, it is unethical and a bad practice for a site as duplicate content can be found with ease by search engines and therefor effect your ranking on them. But it is not illegal. My husband has many pages from his sites ripped off also his images as well, hence now he wont post any without a watermark, if you want to you can use <-- quote marks to prevent HTML copy but this is easy to get around, You did the right thing, you found out and asked for and got (surprised) a public apology. What has happened to the so called design company? One person did say that design was not important but that only the text was, sorry don't agree with that, just look at this site. If it was not well designed you wouldn't get the visitors, and you would not be able to navigate your way around. He did say though that the configuration needs tweeking to remove some of the input fields where they are not needed.??
Well it would seem that apart from doing his typing this has been a message from him, so I will write my own again soon. PP

Hi Panty Princess and welcome to Panty Hog.

Firstly, kudos to you to start posting on a topic such as this, I think you’ll be a very welcome addition to our family.  smt

But…the whole point of the fetish is that the buyer is buying the panties from a woman not a professional design team, therefore design (outside of the basics such as is everything in the right place, do the links work, is it easy to navigate?) does not matter.

A panty site should be personal to the seller, not a super duper sleekly created designfest. That’s what I mean about text being more important. The buyer wants to know about the woman, her personality, her beliefs, her bra size, her discharge etc. This comes through in the text and pics, not the design. I don’t believe for one minute that a buyer makes his choice based on how sleek her site is.

You can’t compare Panty Hog to a seller’s site, although they have panties in common they are coming from different ends of the spectrum.

This is why we’re saying to forbidden fetish that her site is going to cause her problems rather than sales. Irregardless of the logistics of setting up a site with a design company, buyers look for the owner of the site, they check stuff like that out, thoroughly, if it looks too commercial ie professionally designed by a professional company and the site is owned by the design company then they will shy away, they will certainly not like seeing another seller’s words on that site. I bet loads of buyers could quote Cinder’s site word for word.

Cindy is well aware that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, it happens all the time to her, but when you’ve spent time learning html and sit for hours composing your text then she’s entitled to be pissed off. It also casts doubt on the sincerity of the copier, doesn’t she know why she wants to sell panties? If not, then why is she?

Copying site content may not be illegal (I’m sure you know better than I do, I really don’t know to be honest) but it is something that is not tolerated within the panty community.

The most important thing in this fetish is the personal touch.

Getting a proefessional design team in who then owns your domain, and therefore site, and copied text is ticking all the big no-no boxes.

It’s a shame really that forbidden fetish didn’t come here first for our advice, she’s have saved herself some cash and  all this grief and she’d be known to us all through her personality first and foremost 🙁

Are you talking about Panty Hog here? If so, input fields on which form?

Thanks Panty Princess, it has become a little stand-in joke now as my site gets copied all the time.  It really does annoy me because the site is my own personal site, with my items and my own words, phrases and quotes.  To see my hard work on another girl’s site makes my blood boil, and I feel that a public apology is the right thing do to – it gives her some credit back and saves her some face.

However, Anna is right in saying the design doesn’t really matter in this biz.  The buyers enjoy to see the girl’s personality shine through in their site and when it has been designed for them it lacks sincerity and actually can look like a templated fake site.

Selling panties is a very intimate business between seller and buyer and so the girl’s website should also reflect that.  If you are running a different type of site altogether where you are not the main focus on a personal level then yes, a good looking site is imperitive.

Whether copyright or plagiarism is illegal or not, it doesn’t really matter – hosting companies usually hate that and will take down the offending site or warn the owner once it has been reported.  Plus Google hates copied content too and will instantly give a penalty to the site that has it – as Google casches everything it knows exactly who had what first and for how long.

Have fun here Panty Princess, don’t pick too many holes in other girl’s websites though, we all work very hard in keeping our sites going and sure they are probably full of errors but that is how some of us learn, improve and makes us even more unique 🙂

    Stealing content etc is illegal.

The following link explains the implications, ways of protecting your work and ways to pursue the violator.

    Sites.
In my opinion Cindy,Anna,Jess,Cherie,Allura and many more ladies all have their own style of site but what connects them all is their care and dedication to each and every single client.Pointless having whistles and bells on your site if you don’t treat everyone as if he is special.
Many thanks to all the ladies and continued success.
    just my opinion. :coolsmiley:

The author has no ownership of the text on their web site and others are free to copy it as they see fit?!

Hmmm…you honestly believe that? Here’s an experiment to try, go to the Associated Press’ website. Copy one of their articles and then paste it on your web site being careful to remove anything that indicates that it came from the AP. Now go back to the AP web site and email them the url to your site with the explanation that text on the web is fair game. Finally, copy and paste the response you get from their lawyers in this thread. It should be quite interesting.

HAHAHAH!!! Clark that was the best post I read from you yet!  Thank you!  :coolsmiley:

Funny how a professional webmaster didn’t even know the copyright law – how odd?!?!

Thank you Jazzy – you are so right!  I could never let someone else design my site ever, sure I take advice, but never ever pay someone else to design it or write it for me.  My site is an extension of me and I am damn proud of my self taught efforts  :P.  As you said Jazzy, it’s not always what you do, it’s how you do it.

    Love Cinds x
