UK Citizens – know the new Dangerous Pictures Act
Please watch this YouTube video if you don’t want to be jailed for 3 years and placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
Do you want to have to trust 12 random strangers know the difference between faked and genuine scenes, or the difference between horror and porn.
Still have Madonna’s coffee table bookSex ? You could be jailed!
Do you have a poster from Psycho depicting Janet Leigh in the shower with the knife? Three years on the Sex Offenders Register for you!

Sadly, that sounds very much like law making to me.
What I’m taking from this is that only ‘violent’ content is to be criminalised, which suggests that tradition porn remains legal.
Do you think BDSM film will be the most effected by this shit new law?

I think plenty of porn as well as BDSM film will be affected, I also think that purchasers of many erotic art books will be affected.Ben Westwood, an erotic photographer, is going to find all his books illegal under this new law. There will be many others too.
Sites like this http://www.satanic-sluts.com/ will be illegal for UK residents come the end of Jan 2009.
We’re not just talking porn, we’re talking about anything that features nudity and a suggestion of violence.
Images don’t have to be violent to be illegal.
This will be an illegal image next year.

how can law makers just brush aside the arguments for freedoms.
lDecember 9, 2008 at 2:21 am #24368missamandamaeMemberWow this is all very frighting to me!!!
NO offense to you UK people but this makes me glad to be in the US…
December 9, 2008 at 11:28 am #24369anniMemberHow will this be enforced? That’s what I’m worried about.
December 10, 2008 at 6:54 am #24377summerresMembermaybe a massive filter? but then people could rename files and bury stuff. wouldnt this be an encroachment on privacy?
lDecember 13, 2008 at 8:46 am #24410LadyLilithMemberI’m in the US and I’m seeing some scary stuff go down as well here regarding freedom.
(ie Patriot Act, dumping of writ of habeus corpus).
Both sides of the ocean have seen the natural encroachment of human desire for control over other humans seep into systems of government.
Its a bit like entropy, or sweeping the cabin floor. It will keep getting in. The only way to prevent it from taking over is to do our bests to sweep things that kill freedom back out. Otherwise we’ll all be hip deep in dirt.
and not the fun kind. 🙁
