It has come to my attention that a new seller has copied some of my hard work and used it on her new site – and by not acknowledging me, or linking to the source of that information, is effectively passing it off as her own.
Can I remind all sellers that copy and pasting without acknowledgement is not acceptable. You will be found out and you will be asked to put it right.
Copying text from other web pages and then pasting that text on your own makes you look lazy, unoriginal and sneaky – not something that buyers and other sellers appreciate and definitely not a good way to start a business based on trust and respect.
Don’t do it.
October 20, 2008 at 3:02 am #23715anniMemberI’m sorry to hear that, Anna. Dummies are born everyday.
Whoever is thinking about copying someone else’s hard work, think about this…
If you are copying from someone who has the notoriety such as Anna or is high on google search, actually even without that, chances are you are not the first person to see it. Chances are a billion people have already seen it and accredit it to the site’s owner. Then you pop up and magically have the same text, graphics, ect as the previously mentioned site.
Sounds dumb when it is spelled out, doesn’t it? Thats because it is dumb. You will never get away with theft around here so have some self respect and self confidence to put out your own work.
I’m sure thieves are a creative people with wonderful ideas, but if they don’t give themself a chance, neither will anyone else…especially the person they steal from.
October 21, 2008 at 11:09 pm #23741AnnaMemberThis is a lesson in copying. If your text looks remarkably similar to someone else’s then it is called copying. I emailed the offender and asked her to either acknowledge me as the original author or change the wording. This is her reply:
…I did read you payment method advice and did re-worded it, I changed what I could, but obviously I have to keep the facts of each payment, as thats what im explaining! I did change lots of bits though and did not use it word for word…
Summer JaneThese are my words, as found in the Panty University on Payment Options in the UK. https://www.usedpantyportal.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogsection&id=5&Itemid=175
Online/Telephone banking (BACS)
This is the best way for your buyer to send payment I think. It’s risk free for both buyer and seller. It’s quick and it’s convenient.
There is no fee to pay for either party. It’s a free banking service. Do not confuse this with a Bank Transfer (see below).
The seller gives her sort code and account number to the buyer.
The buyer can set up the payment through online banking, telephone banking or over the counter. All he needs is the sort code, account number and payment amount. The buyer can choose what reference appears on the seller’s statement, and he can also choose what reference appears on his statement.
This is 100% secure, convenient and discreet for both parties. All the seller sees on her statement is his reference (preferably his name!), the amount and the date paid. The buyer’s account details do not show.
The payment takes 3 working days to clear which is much quicker than a cheque, which takes 5 working days.
This is the text on her website. I have emboldened the text which is exactly like mine ie a DIRECT copy.

Apart from the added ‘/his’ it is a direct copy and paste job.
DO NOT fuck around and pretend you haven’t copied so when you so clearly have!!!!!
DO NOT try to make me out to be a complete moron!!!

Anna,
I noticed you did not name the girl right off.
It was very decent of you to give her a chance
to correct her offense quietly!Too bad Summer Jane did not show the same respect to you by being honest

I was very disappointed when she said she had changed bits and not copied it word for word. She must think I am really really stupid.

And what a big mistake that is!
:laugh:All one needs to do is ASK! Honestly…
I’m confident Anna would have been more then happy to help anyone rewording.Going behind someone’s back means troubles, you will get caught and no-one is going to be impressed!!
October 22, 2008 at 6:58 pm #23769anniMemberBeing in the panty hog university she could have easily reworded it and had no grief because that information is for everyone to LEARN from.
I guess she thought free information meant free to copy word for word. Geez.
Edit: I just noticed your article, Anna, is right above Cindy’s “Copy or not to Copy – There Is No Question in this Crime!” article.
Oh, the irony.

Yup. That is what made it particularly loathsome. Even if you didn’t know that copying is er well umm copying (although I thought we all learned that in primary school) then there was no doubt when you saw Cindy’s article heading right under mine was there?
October 27, 2008 at 6:43 pm #23842CaptnjackMemberIt seems to me that this unamed girl used information that was infact available in the public domain and also appologised so why dont you get off her back, and where did you get the information from do you say that in your web page i doubt it. l have been buying panties for many years and was appalled at the level of back stabbing going on by your self and your fellow moderators. You need to remember you are there to moderate not bully you need to grow up and get a life

Bullying is when you have a go at someone for no reason. I had a reason, a valid one. She copied my work. Just because I wrote an article that other sellers could READ and benefit from, doesn’t mean they can COPY and PASTE it onto their website – thus passing it off as their own work. It is not acceptable. It is called plagiarism – you should look that word up.
She may have apologised but she didn’t know what she was apologising for because she still couldn’t admit what she did wrong. As it happens we have communicated again, cleared some misunderstandings up and I have now accepted her apology.
Where did I get my information from? I’d answer you if I knew what you were referring to exactly.
Backstabbing – that’s another word you clearly don’t understand. I don’t back stab – never have done – I say how it is – to that person’s face – I’m well known for it.
I do moderate honey, I also look out for myself and my fellow sellers. I also let other sellers know what is and what isn’t acceptable behaviour – and copying isn’t one of them.
October 27, 2008 at 7:53 pm #23845adminKeymasterCaptain, I’m confused as to whether you created a new account and posted this to hurt or help the person involved here. This thread was dead and buried. Old news that has been worked out and cleaned up. Bringing it up again stinks of someone just trying to stir shit.
As far as the moderator bashing I’ve said it at least one hundred times here. Moderators are nice enough to volunteer their own time to help people out with using the site, and to keep the forums from filling up with posts from fake pharmaceutical pitches and religious nutcases. Moderating is open to anyone genuinely interested and committed to helping out.

Firstly, after analysing your bullshit post, it concludes that your post was written by a FEMALE!
I sincerely hope that you are not attempting to pull yourself off as a well known buyer called Captain Jack.

Why am I not surprised. It’s far easier to bitch and whine than actually step up and take some responsibility.
