Do snail mail payments drive away customers?

Hi y’all!

I think I am close to closing my first sale [fingers crossed!]  I’m in Canada and as far as I know we don’t have a good online payment system like Nochex.  This particular client was leery of sending cash.  He was considering an international money order when I suggested he just buy me an online gift certificate (heck, I’d have spent the money on books anyhow!)  😉

I am just starting out and I am wondering if not having an online payment option (like Paypal, except those buggers don’t do worn panties!) is going to turn away customers.  That’s the last thing I’d want to do!  However, I’m scared of dishonest chargebacks and I haven’t yet seen a payment system that does adult stuff and is easy and simple.

Will a lack of online payment options turn customers away?  What do you ladies and gents say?

On line payments make things easier. There is an ad for greenzap right on this page that takes payments for panties.  🙂

Online payments are easier but I do have quite a few who do snail mail me too.? It just depends on the client.? Moneybookers is another online payment system whom accept Canadian Dollars Im sure.? Have a peek at them too 🙂

as a buyer, it does’nt scare me at all, in fact i prefer it, in fact i was all set to buy panties and stockings from http://www.angelinaspanties.co.uk until she emailed me and told me she does not except money orders or concealed cash, she is a beauty too..so its defenitly my loss..lol, mabye for single guys its no problem..but i am not single..and scrutiny of cc bills is very high in my house..lol..”were saving for a house and spending money on WHAT!”..LOL, so i actually have been looking at only the girls on pantytrust who offer snail mail or westernunion as an option

Bit late in posting to this thread, but here’s my thoughts on the subject.
Being able to send cash via snail mail is a must for me as i don`t have a credit card, so most on-line payments systems are unavailable to me.  I have found that sending cash has not caused me any worries, well apart from once when i put the wrong PO box No!  my mistake so my loss.  I know it takes longer for the transaction to go though and that there is a lot of trust involved with both the seller and buyer (lost post/no received) But overall its OK.
As for on-line payments, i do have access to a few in the UK but now they are cutting back on whats allowed to be paid for via them So most of my buying is still done via cash.

I came out with few payment options which I suggest in this order:

1) Moneybookers – safe, secure, no chargebacks,  but takes longer to ger your bank account or card verified

2) Talksugar – safe, quick, but the buyer needs to have card or e-gold to register and they also take 25 percent of the payment. On the other hand, my bonus for new paying customers is not bad, so I can offer the first pair (or even 2 pairs) of panties for about 10 dollars only, but shhhhsh 🙂

3) Concealed money – I am open to this, but I am always nervous about the letter getting lost or being stolen, also the cash must be REALLY well hidden and notes only

4) Wishlist item or gift card for some shop that I can use. Unfortunately, they mostly want a card as well and shipping the items to my country usually costs me arm and leg. I am now working on a list of Prague places that offer gift cards in english, lol.

5) I am starting to thing about Alertpay, but I am not decided yet.

I see you have had to answer this question asked before lol Have found that its been a problem to get new buyers who don`t have or wont use the credit card to buy from you?
Regarding Alert Pay, again the buyer needs a credit card or to send a MO to them to be able to use that system. But i know a few sellers who use Alert Pay and they have had no problems with using it, they treat it as an instent payment just like the other well known on-line payment system, sorry can`t bring myself to say there name  lol

I am not sure if I understood, but I hope I did.

I had few guys who did not have a card. Few used moneybookers and bank account (possible in some countries) or concealed cash, some just disappeared later, lol.

The thing is that buyer usually wants to buy here and now and waiting can make him turn away to someone who is closer or more convenient payment-wise as normal mail takes about 4-7 days to me and then there is the way back to buyer which can take the whole thing a 10-14 days in total which does not really work as the sometimes desired “here and now”.
Lol, do I make some sense?

Hi Silvercat and Mike

It must be quite frustrating for those living in Europe without a UK Bank account.

I had no end of problems signing up with Moneybookers so I don’t use anyone now. Most of my gents who can’t pay online or with a card are happy to pop into their local bank and pay it in for me.  I have never accepted cash in the post, too much can go wrong with dodgy postmen.

I think any transaction buyers perform is done on a trust basis, no matter how you pay.  Sellers only wear something that has already been paid for.  And unfortunately, some dishonest sellers don’t follow through. :angry:

I can’t believe you got ripped a few times before Mike – hopefully it was not a seller here on Panty Hog? &nbsp:cheer:ohmy:es make me so angry when this happens!! :knuppel2:

I haven’t used Alert pay at all – Silvercat, if you decide to give it a go, let us know what it is like .. we have heard good and bad things about them on here.

As for guys wanting here and now – I think most of them have to wait a while for their order anyway – especially if they are buying from the more popular girls.  Good things are worth waiting for.  Just a thought Silvercat – why not send out a free pic or something to keep the guys happy while they wait?

It makes sense, Its the way of the world now, “I want it now!” long gone are the days where some of the fun of buying was the waiting. lol

I would say that part of the “I want it now” that I get is because I am still quite new to panty selling and where guys would wait with established seller, they are a little untrusting and are afraid to “wait for nothing”.
So I can understand this “here and now” thing.

You can just see Mcpanties opening up somewhere can’t you? A drive-in where you hand over your cash and Mcpanties hand over your panties, still warm…

But everyone knows that you have to wait for the food in the best restaurants, as opposed to a 90 sec drive-thru target.

Never mind you get what you pay for, with panties it should be you get what you wait for!
