Who remembers E-Bay.
Why did they stop the selling of used panties when i’m sure it must have been a good earner for them,sadly i lost money but i’m sure they had some good sellers.
Whatever happened to Pay Pal ?

Paypal won’t allow its service to be used for anything adult-related.  This condition came into effect when eBay bought them.  I believe eBay also does not want adult/fetish items sold on their site…  Although you can find new lingerie, condoms, vibrators, etc. on the site, so it’s kind of a double standard.

I know a lot of panty sellers still use Paypal, but discreetly.  The fine is $500 for anyone caught breaking their terms of use.

That is crazy.
I wouldn’t want to be caught, but then again, I haven’t used paypal for this yet.
What other type of electronic payment can you accept if you cannot accept Paypal?

I don’t know about a $500 fine, but PayPal did in fact “limit” my account when they suspected that I might be using it to take payments.? I have no idea how they found out about my website, as I hadn’t accepted any PayPal payments (despite being asked to), nor did I advertise myself as being willing to do so, but there you have it.

What does a “limited” account mean?? Only that you can neither make payments nor accept payments, or get at any money which may have been in your account.? No matter where it came from.? And it is my understanding that any money in the account becomes theirs if if they decided you’ve been violating their TOS.? I had to go through several weeks of email wrangling with rude people who acted as if I was trying to pull one over on them just to get my account de-limited so I could close it!? You read that right – they would not even let me close the account (leaving them with full access to my personal bank account, since I’d been funding my PayPal account from my bank account as many people do) until I jumped through all of their ridiculous hoops.? And when all was said and done, even though they were forced to admit I was NOT violating their TOS, I got the exact same rude treatment – never so much as a “we’re sorry for the inconvenience.”

Ladies, it just isn’t worth it to accept PayPal!

I for one won’t be using them for anything in the future.

Oh, and BTW, although ebay does have auctions for adult toys, dvds, new lingerie, and even bondage/fetish gear – those things STILL can’t be paid with using PayPal.

I have heard more than one story of Paypal unilaterally seizing the funds from an account for real or imagined violations of their terms of service.  I have used them to pay for things (using my credit card), but I’ll never hold money in an account with them.  I perceive their practices as being heavy-handed and not always justified or fair.

There are lots of other payment processors, SpaceGeisha, none of them as widely-used as Paypal.  Some are expensive, some are a hassle, some are unestablished. (The exception is Nochex in the UK, which I hear is awesome.)  The panty community is waiting for a good, international, inexpensive provider to show up.  99% of my sales are by mailed cash/money order.  It’s slow, but it works.

I know that Paypal can be underhand in their methods but I do kind of agree with what they do at times.

They are SOOOO prolific for not tollerating adult related items and they make it clear that there will be consequences (granted, the consequence depend upon whether the guy emailing you got any last night or not) yet people still decide to ignore it to the point of flaunting it, kind of; “Paypal accepted here, who by the way suck!!” They must think we panty sellers are kind of taking the piss out of them. I used them, never got caught, and then felt guilty for displaying my half naked ass on a kiddy access place like eBay & packed it in. I have mended my ways!!

We as sellers make it obvious we want to be seen as adult only. Our pages say don’t steal our pics, people do, we kick their rear ends for violating our terms. Just as Panty Hog has the right to say this place is strictly 18/21+ eBay and Paypal have the right to say that they don’t want their image to be associated with the adult industry and people need to respect that or lose out. For the most of it, people know what may happen if they choose to ignore the T&C’s and they take that gamble. The T&C’s now even state that adult webmasters can’t accept “gift cash” for no products using PayPal.

I don’t think it’s double standards for ebay to sell sex toys. Sex toys are legal, panties are “Weapons of mass destruction” in the States and classed as Toxic Waste here. I can’t see nuclear bombs or barrels of day-glow green gunk being legal on ebay either.

A seller on eBare says Nochex are not allowing R18’s anymore. 🙁

R 18’s are a rating for DVD’s and videos. I’m not sure what content R18 have that is any worse than standard 18? Must be something bad obviously.

I agree that if you knowingly violate the TOS then you should get slapped with the $500 fine.  But in our darling Cherie’s case she was innocent.  😥

that is Crazy, there are lots of panty auctions that you can get your Wholesale pany needs taken care of. and pay by paypal??

it is crazy that a person would be suspended, for doing something that can’t be proven??

what if you did use paypal to buy pantys??  or even a toy or two??  Why would that ruin the reputation of ebay or paypal??
