Just read from Russia with love. I have to admit it is the best out of the Bond books I have read so far. It is a lot better then film. Not to sure if I liked the ending but it was better then the film. Still don’t think Fleming is the best author out there. Spy and P.I. wise Lawrence Block’s Matt Scudder books are better. Still have to finish the Bond set but thought I would ask a few things.

To the Bond fans Witch books is the best in your opinion?

To the PI and spy fans, what books other then Bond and Scudder would you go for?

By the way if you have not read any of the Scudder books I would. They are really good.

Sadly i have not read any the bond books but have seen most on film.
No1 Bond has to be Sean Connery,did you know he is Scottish.;)

J K Rowling,sadly i’m a bit too old for Harry Potter.

I love Dr.No!

The reason is 3 fold:

1. It’s a great novel
2. The hottest Bond ever, Sean Connery, was in the film adaptation.
and 3. I love the Bond Girl’s name- Honey Ryder!(originally in the book it was Honeychile Rider) That’s the sexiest name ever! The next time I find a boy to role play with me in the bed room he’s going to put on a tux and have a license to thrill, and I’m going to be Honey Ryder with a hot bikini. And yes gentlemen, I’ll be Ryden all night long.

I hope I won’t get negative karma for being too explicit- gulp

PS- I don’t care if it’s geeky, I love Potter!
I even cried when I finished the last book- and I never cry (well, almost never)

I should all so point out that in the book Honey Ryder is naked, well all most. She has a knife belt on. I have not got there yet, I read about it in the intro. But I have to admit I am looking forward to it.

I agree Jazzy, Shirley Bassey definitely did the best theme song. I was very disappointed to hear that Amy Winehouse was recording the new Bond theme, but apparently she’s unable to finish it. I wonder who’s doing it now?

Ohh,I just read in the paper today that Sebastian Faulks has just finished the latest Bond novel, Devil May Care, and it’s hit the shelves in London. I may need to wait a little to get a copy, things take their time to work their way down under.

I agree that Sean Connery was by far the best. When someone says “James Bond” that is the first face I associate with the name. I thought Roger Moore was pretty good as Bond as well. Even though I’ve seen the Connery and Roger Moore ones countless times over the years, I’m always happy to watch them again.
