Also, it takes forever (a week +) to get money transferred into your bank. But other than that, its a good option if you don’t want cash, money orders or gift cards.
:silly:

xxxSeptember 16, 2008 at 7:13 pm #23251AnnaMemberDon’t bother looking into Alertpay. It isn’t an option for UK sellers.
Take a look at this link instead…

i did not know that… So I assume UK buyers can not use it either…
What do the US sellers use for UK buyers??? Amazon right?
what else?
September 17, 2008 at 12:33 pm #23263PonygirlMemberI am a UK seller and have been using Alertpay with no problems. They expanded the service to include the UK a while ago, it used to be just the US and Canada. I have accepted payments from a few different countries including the UK, and transferred payments to my bank account, but as Sasha says, it does take a while. I would recommend it though.

I didn’t realise Alertpay had extended outside of North America. This is good news. Any idea when it happened?
September 18, 2008 at 12:31 am #23268PonygirlMemberIt was late last year, I think I posted about it on here. It will be good as long as they don’t close down or stop us using it! 🙂 It doesn’t seem very popular though, most of my customers still just use BACS or amazon certificates. Maybe because you have to fund your account before using it, rather than having payment drawn directly from your bank account like Paypal. It’s still a good, discreet option though, as you only need to give your email address to receive payment.

Must have missed your post. I’m surprised we didn’t have a full on discussion about it.
I do remember lots of complaints about how long it takes to get funds out of Alertpay though – are they any better these days?

It is pretty slow, it seems to take about a week for funds to be transferred to my bank account, not great, but I haven’t had any problems apart from that.
September 18, 2008 at 2:28 am #23271SashaMemberI’ve had a few weird snags with them… I’ve tried
to withdraw funds and have gotten an error message
saying their engineers already know about the
issue, and that the transaction will be delayed. This actually happened to me again today – last
time it took about an extra week, but they don’t
respond to emails and it is sort of unsettling.I still use them regularly, though… hope they get their bugs worked out…
September 27, 2008 at 12:37 am #23357Mask Man N95MemberI’m hating AlertPay thus far, but I need to give them time. All other transactions I’ve done have been with Amazon GCs. Sasha neevr seemed to mind. Others seemed to like it, even.
I’ll admit I’ve never wired anything though. So, maybe it’s new territory.
September 28, 2008 at 7:01 am #23362missamandamaeMemberI have had no snags *crosses fingers* yet…
It does suck that it takes like a week to get the money but I always budget the money for fun stuff, so I guess it is not such a big deal…
I can not wait right now though cuz the current transfer I am waiting on is going to my panty trust payment…
I like amazon too cuz I am able to buy fun things there. I already spend lots of money on amazon so it is nice.
How may people have PO boxes? Is this worth it?

I had a UK PO Box for a year but haven’t renewed it, not enough people used it to justify the expense. I also had problems with security, a few payments went missing. BACS and amazon gift certificates are by far my most popular methods of payment.
October 15, 2008 at 10:12 pm #23677JezabellMemberHi Everyone, I am so very new.. I mean like an hour new. I have been reading through all this threads, though I am wondering What you mean by Amazon Certificates ? I am slightly confused, I am so sorry. If anyone could help explain this to me that would be helpful. 😉
