Rightho, I am to say the least damn pissed off with iKobo, they are really starting to take the piss with my account now! They take a large cut for every payment which comes in, but that is fair enough as they have to to make their money somehow

….However, they also take a cut when you transfer it to your card, and again when withdrawing. So out of 60 dollars you end up with 20 in the hand if your lucky!

Example: I have 60 dollars in my ikobo account (already they took about 10 dollars for their own purposes and I only get to see the remainder of the money a few days later). I go to transfer the 60 dollars to my card: message: “Oh you do not have enough funds to transfer, please go back and choose a smaller amount.

Ends up they wish to keep 20 dollars of that on the account so it is impossible to actually clear your funds! And the more you have in there the more they keep .. so its like candy in the window time.  Thirdly, you go to the bank with your card and think YAY I have 40 dollars to withdraw. WRONG! Try 20 – it wont let you take out the full amount!

I am about to write an email asking WTF is going on but previously every time I asked them questions I got bombarded with the usual “template email” answers. I even tried their online help once and they still couldnt figure out what I was trying to ask.

I do still accept iKobo payments as I want to find out what their reaction is before I close the account (plus I also want ALL my money!!!)

Darn! sounds like another payment processor that is a right pain to deal with!

I have to admit I gave up on trying to actually set up an account with them as a buyer, they didn’t like my credit card  :ohmy:hmy:  .. actualy my bank didn’t like Ikobo  :cheer:

And trying to deal with their live chat repreesntative was ‘challenging’ to say the least LMAO  I hate being uncharitable but I think Fozzy Bear from the muppets would have been easier to deal with  :laugh:

I’m sure others find them easy to deal with, but they seem to have problems dealing with simple queries, such customer service ‘issues’ have been mentioned on a few forums on payment processors.  For a start up company that may just be acceptable, for one that has been going a few years it is completely unacceptable.

Anyway, hope you get your account sorted out Cinds

Hi. I had no trouble setting up my merchant account a few weeks ago.  But I have just gotten an email from them to say that they have changed their terms.
They now DO NOT allow adult items. Arrgh!  I have ’til April 30 to close my Ikobo account, or stop selling these items on my site.

What payment processor should I switch to?

Hiya .. I received the same email and tried once again to get my money but as usual they are keeping back 50 dollars for themselves to stay on the account.  I am waiting for a reply but I informed them I must shut down my account and they must honour me the rest of my money .. lets see what happens.

Try PPPay.com … I have signed up with them and havent had any trouble so far (touch wood).

I wonder how long it will be before they turn us down too!?!?!!

Please be advised that effective immediately iKobo, Inc.is ceasing to provide processing for merchant services in order to comply with a direct request from VISA International under their processing regulations.  This request from VISA has no impact on our person-to-person money transfer product.

Your merchant account has been changed to not allow for  new sales and your current funds will be available to you under the existing terms using your iKard.  Please update your web site to remove iKobo as a payment provider.

As of yet I haven;t tried to take any money out of my account so what you have said really makes me cross! They take money to transfer it? And to take it out! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! I haven’t even been sent a card yet!

Hey Darcy babe .. no I havent had such an email from them at all (yet).? The wankers are still holding back a chunk of my money because evidently, despite being a merchant, I can only take out up to 500 dollars a month and they are not letting me get my rest out!

As soon as you get your card Darcy, log into your account, transfer all the funds and then get to a cash point immediately.? They seem to chop and change the way they do things, last time I transferred I didnt get charged (probably because they kept that last chunk) ….but remember you will get charged when you take out from a UK cashpoint because it will be converted into Pounds and your money is held in a US Account.

I dont think there is reason to panic just yet, I think they will continue for a while yet, besides, they also have the law to abide by and they have to be careful not to get themselves sued.? However, as soon as I get the rest of my money out Im cutting up my card and closing my account.

PPPay have been really great so far but sadly cannot take on Australian customers GRRR .. I emailed them and they assured me it will be coming this year.?

One day we will all be blessed with an all round, professional payment processor .. well we can dream cant we!!!

Thanks sweetie! I’m not too worried just annoyed, you find one you think is quite good and it just messes you about! Or no one’s ever heard of it and don’t want to try it. Thanks for the advice, I will take the money out asap and hopefully find a better system.
I may try pppay but as you mentioned they don’t take Austrailians? I have  a few loyal customers from there so I’ll have to find another way to help them.
It’s soooooooooooooooooo annoying!
We should start up panty pay, low fees, adult sites encouraged and no banning, conning or stealing………we need to make friends with Bill Gates, maybe he’d build it for us.

Hi Darcy,
Panty Pay is a great idea. In my time on line, I’ve considered such a venture myself. The root of the problem though isn’t always the payment processing service.  Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc. don’t like adult transactions mostly because of all the BS fraud, related charge backs and such. These problems are actually more common in the adult entertainment paysite world, but unfortunately panty sales get thrown into the ring as does every “adult offering”. Basically if the big creditcard banks refuse to let a payment service accept their card, or charge extermely huge fees to allow it, it makes the payment service less profiable or worse. I.E. A payment service that doesn’t allow creditcard transactions won’t be well used. Look at things like eGold for example.
So the ultimate answer is still out there to be found….

Thats a shame but it’s good of you guys to look into it! We could start our own bank as well haa haa. The Adult Bank! It does suck as I know a lot of porn sites etc are cons and we get put under that same category. We should list all our items as ‘collectables’ as I am sure a lot of men enjoy collecting them haa haa.

I’ve noticed that the two companies (Nochex and PPPay) that seem to be the most accepting of panty sites are both British. Maybe it’s because the trade isn’t as well known in the UK so they aren’t as fussed.

So I’m putting my money on the ‘prudish’ Brit companies turning a blind eye  ;)  Money is money here, they don’t seem to give a rats ass how ‘dirty’ it is. (watch they’ll ban us now I’ve said that!)

The tax man clamped down on the Uk eBay just as I was leaving it (sorry, that should read “Just as I was banned from it”) a fair few people got burned. Ouch!!

I was banned from Ebay so long ago I missed all the fun! I heard they were taxing it and paypal and ebay are reporting sellers that make a certain amount through the site (It happened to my friend he wasn’t impressed!)

The adult bank would be fun, all the staff could be bunny girls! (I’d work there!)

It’s annoying that the Brit sites are the only ones turning a blind eye, a lot fo my custom are from the states and get annoyed that I have to keep changing the method I use (I can’t say I find it fun either!)
Nochex should go world wide, they’re the only company not to screw me over!…..yet!
