As the Panty university hasn’t moved for a little while I thought we could start a bit of educating right here!
I don’t for a minute know how to get on to Google and from the start I saw the complexity of it and decided that I’d rather invest the time in my gents. All you experienced gals hop in and enlighten 🙂
Now I know they’re the most used search engine and that being high Google rated is the difference between being a high hit site and a quiet one but I’ve glanced over most of the uk search engines tonight and concluded that at the mo, Google aint that great at all for panty searches.
You have to span a good couple of pages before you find a panty site through all the panty articles/semi related stuff. But if you MSN search, 10 pages in and there’s still nothing but panty girls sites, including me (yay!) Chandie, Karen, Cindy, Lizzie. Surely they’re better quality searchers? Just last week one of our very own panty girls was sitting pretty at the Google number 1 spot….now?? Isn’t Google pretty fickle?? I even see sites that are all but closed high on lists.
It’d be logical that peeps will go to other search engines seeing as the worn/used panty searches spew up so much gumf at the mo. Before I knew about panty selling even I knew Jeeves was the place for everything porn, whether you wanted it or not Jeeves got you porn! So…..why spend so much time on Google:huh: What do your stats say?? Mine say MSNs bots/searchers hit me a whole lot more than Google.
Share peeps, for us feeble minds xx

Ps: I’m sure I’m just bitter, if I was on Google I’d be their hugest, BIGGEST fan ever!!
October 24, 2005 at 1:24 am #4608adminKeymasterThanks for bringing up Panty University Jess. I was thinking the other day that I should mention somewhere that we needed some additional courses. Since several ladies here have gone from asking if you can actually sell panties to being full-blown professional web-mistresses, there are probably some great lessons and advice they could share with ladies just starting out. -HINT- HINT-? :cheer: Also, Panty University has just been accredited to offer a graduate school? lmao so advanced web site and sales management “courses” are welcome as well. Seriously to all sellers though, if anyone would like to submit a lesson for PU, please do. Don’t worry if you don’t think you’re “experienced enough”, there’s always someone newer than you who could benefit from your knowledge.
On the Google issue, there are many web sites dedicated to the? discussion as to whether Google position is really as critical as all that. Google remains a great mystery, and their ever changing program of deciding who gets ranked where will drive you nuts if you let it. I think you’re on the mark about MSN, and they are trying like hell to get the word out that searching their service may give you more of the results that you are looking for. I follow our visitor stats and google search pattern reports closely, and can tell you that the obvious key words for which you’d think you’d need to rank highly aren’t necessarily the ones panty folks are searching.
Google has indexed over 5,000 pages of Panty Hog so far, and I do appreciate that. It may make you feel a little better Jess to take a look at Google’s index of Panty Hog. Out of over 5,000 pages listed, look who’s mentioned in the very second result? ;)? Here is the link:

I have no clue about Google, but I’m thrilled anytime my little “site” shows up ANYWHERE! Yes PK, Panty University is a wonderful resource and I think we should support its growth! I’ll try wracking my brain for anything I think others would like to know. 🙂

(“I’m on a search engine? Wow!”)October 24, 2005 at 6:56 am #4610Cindy_PantyParadiseMemberGoogle is worth it but it has taken me years to get on the front page and even that moves around depending on googles mood lol!
As a quick solution to get the googlebot to scan your site just go here:

I will write up more about submitting to SEs later today and dig out some links etc and write something for the Panty Uni xxx

October 24, 2005 at 9:12 am #4611lizzies_pantiesMemberHey, right google lol… well I get alot of hits of google but saying that it could just be my competitors clicking lol… no but seriously sometimes the adwords is worth it, tho maybe you can help me out my site has gone to PR 3 (yay finally noticed!) but still dont come up in general results on google?
Thanks

October 24, 2005 at 12:03 pm #4612Cindy_PantyParadiseMemberOk .. well two things .. PR doesnt seem to have much weight to be honest.? Im a PR4 and my site has been listed as number 1 in the Dmoz Google Used Panties Directory for months – however I am not placed at number 1 for search terms.
Also, google seems to have a “sandbox” time.? For all new sites, they tend to index them and the googlbot visits you and gives you a PR for each page, however your site might not show up in the actual Search Engine Listing for months. Its almost like a test to see if your site changes, moves, whatever… its their way of making sure your site isnt just a 5 minute farce.
Please dont ask me how Google works – they are a God unto their own.? Just when I think that Google loves something I did, it then turns around and kicks me up the bum 😛
The PR link thing I personally think was Googles biggest mistake – there is nothing worse than thinking my site looks like a link farm, along with all the others sites who swop links because they feel almost forced into doing so just to try and raise their PR (which as I have proved evidently means jack-shit anyway!)
Oh the joys of being webmistresses and webmasters … certainly keeps us on our toes tho eh?

October 25, 2005 at 1:55 am #4624adminKeymasterThank you Cindy for a new Panty University course entitled Google Hints for Panty Sellers . Cindy shares some good advice, so if you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to check it out.

October 25, 2005 at 7:13 am #4625Cindy_PantyParadiseMemberIts my pleasure PK … I hope that it will come in handy to those that are lost as to how to get your site “out there”.
Love Cindy xOctober 25, 2005 at 8:37 pm #4632lizzies_pantiesMemberHey ,
Just wondering has anyone in the panty community ever got above PR 4, or is that impossibe?
xxlizxx
October 25, 2005 at 8:51 pm #4634chandiespantiesMemberThe only sites I’ve ever seen with a PR above 4 are directories.
I’d say it would be pretty difficult without losing the all important personal touch. It’s beyond me how Google measures a site’s relevance by how many others link to it, and personally I think they’ve screwed up big time by altering their algorithm to weigh that more heavily than content. If users aren’t finding what they are looking for, just loads of directories, they’ll start switching to other search engines.
Maybe they think that their current position of number 1 is unassailable?

October 25, 2005 at 8:56 pm #4635Cindy_PantyParadiseMemberI agree the lengths we have to go to for Google are ridiculous, however I was a PR 5 a little while ago but dropped to a 4.? No idea why that was as I didnt do anything different.? So yes its possible to get a higher PR but to be honest PR doesnt seem to do or mean much anyway!
Love Cinds xx
