Is this some sort of scam?

Hi everyone, as you know from my posts, I’m new to this. I just have a quick question about a weird e-mail I got a couple days ago.
It said “I need 10 panties, 10 bras, and 10 bodywear. What is your price and where are you located?” But some of the stuff was kinda misspelled.
I replied, “I have a variety of styles, see my site for details  (website here). I am in the Midwest, USA” Figured it was an appropriate response.
So he writes back today  “I want a variety of 10 panties, 10 bras, 10 bodywear”
I quoted prices to him, based on my site, but am wondering if this is some sort of scam. I don’t know why else someone would buy in bulk like that from a new site. Figured I’d ask if anyone has any idea what the deal is or if they think it’s legit.
    Thanks all!

    Hey hun,

I think I had this mail too but it was for 20 pairs of panties. Lol, he obviously likes you more than me!! Was it from someone whose first name began with a B using large fonts and not so good spelling? I didn’t reply because I don’t take those kinds of messages seriously…..but I’m mean!!  :cheer: He maybe legit, you never know or just testing the water for responses. I hope he’s a customer hun.

**Wow! First time I’ve logged in in ages and the forum has escaped from Panty Hog! Someone left the gate open? Panty Hog’s been really slow loading the forum lately, to the point of me giving up a few times. Is something up or is it my devil dial up? This is the only place giving me jip though **

Hmmm. It might’ve been the same guy. His name started with a B, but no large fonts. Yeah, it would be a nice start if it was a real request, it would pay for my start up right there. But it just seems weird.

Tastykacie, I’ve had a legit buyer purchase four pairs at once…  Some guys do like to get a whole bunch of stuff all at the same time.  10+10+10 sounds like a lot, though.

Just tell him that with any order, payment is up-front.  He can pay 1/3 and get 1/3 of the merchandise first, if he likes, or pay for one item and get one item.  I have found that a LOT of time wasters vanish instantly when you mention payment.  LOL.  Except with trusted regulars, nothing gets worn by me until payment arrives.  Without a policy like that it’s just too easy for scammers to take advantage of you.

Thanks for the advice. Since I’m new, I’ll only wear an item if I get payment first, just because I don’t have any trusted purchasers or anything yet. Yeah, I told him how much it would cost and to get me the payment and I’d start preparing his orders. Haven’t heard anything yet, wouldn’t be surprised if I don’t hear at all, I guess. Oh well.
I guess I just had some bizarre mental image of him doing something crazy with my panties,  like making a panty ladder to escape prison or something. Overactive imagination.
    Thanks all!

    Me too!!

This guy contacted me and asked me for silly amounts of items which would take me a month to prepare.  I told him that Im not interested as he obviously wants to sell them on… and whats the deal on wanting to know where you are:huh:

He then came back to me again and asked for just 2 pairs but I said again, that I am not interested if he is going to resell my items.

I have forwarded his details and emails to the relevant people so that if he decides to sell on your items girls, he may well be caught.  I suggest you all do the same and warn the auction sites, just in case… if he is a scam then he should get caught, if not then no harm is done!

I am personally not prepared to be involved in a scam no matter how much he offers to pay, and I hope to hell he gets caught – no person needs or wants 30+ pairs of intimates in one go for their own personal pleasure!

Okay, so I heard from him again today, saying he wants to send me a money order and needs my name, address, and phone #. I wrote back that he can only send me a money order with the name left blank, my po box, and sorry, don’t  give out phone to anyone.
I told him to let me know if he sends something, so I can expect it.  So what if something does show up? Would it be stupid for me to fill the order? Or can I fill it and then just warn auction sites, like you suggest.
The only reason I’m considering is because I know it would cover my start up fee and then some, which would be awesome. Especially when I don’t have any sort of client base yet. I realize it would take a month to fill, but I’m not exactly busy right now.
Don’t know what to do about this.

What if someone wanted to roll around in a pile of them, naked?  ;)  That’s not so far-fetched!

Tastykacie, if the guy sends you a genuine money order for the entire amount (100+ items), I’ll eat my hat.  If he just buys one or two, no problem.  Just take a permanent marker and write his name on the panty in big letters (works best on cotton briefs).  How can he resell a panty with his name written on it?  (The answer: he can’t.)

Safest thing, of course, is to just not sell to him.  Return the m/o if it shows up.  I know any sale is valuable when you are starting up, but it’s scammers that make life hard for genuine panty sellers (like you and me.)  They rip buyers off and the buyers have a hard time trusting anyone again.

That’s a really good idea with the permanent marker thing, especially because he never specifically asked for certain items off of my site. I also doubt I would actually receive a money order, but on the off chance I do, I just wasn’t sure what to do. I guess I’ll just see if he replies, then tell him I’d like to write his name on the items and see what he says.
I’d really hate if he was legit to not fill his order, but the odds of him being legit seem slim. Well, we’ll see if he writes back at all….

I can see the utter weirdity of an order like this  (though I love that image of rolling around in a vast pile of worn undies!), but honestly, I don’t see how it could work as a scam.  Even if he tried to resell them, how would he make any profit?  If you think about it, the amount we ladies make on a pair of panties is a pittance after you deduct the cost of panties, website or other advertising expences, p&p and so on.  He’s just paid retail price (so to speak) and is now going to sell them for the same price you sold them for?  How much more could he possibly get?

If there’s some secret place chock-full of buyers willing to pay $400 for a pussy-pop, I haven’t found it!

My best guess would be it’s a guy trying to sell you a line that goes something like this…”I really want to place this huge order, but first I’m gonna need just a small sample of your wares.”

Well, I haven’t heard back from the guy at all. So I don’t know what his deal was. He never asked for anything free, just tried to get some info, like location and phone and full name. I politely refused, and that was the end of it. Probably for the better, I’d say.

Maybe it’s really Panty Cop (remember him?), gone undercover to ferret out the heinous scammer jimmy.  He’s trying to get everybody’s personal info so he can find out who are the real girls and who are the tuna tricksters.  lmao
