Memberi am thinking this has come up before??? i can not remember what the outcome was!
but there is a lot of great stuff out there which is great for the site but is it worth locking the posts that are old or that things have been said and done?
for example….the panties in scotland??? it is handy to have it around as he was a time waster but then it could do with being locked as serena has said people dont bother to read the whole post??
i know that it would be time consuming but we could have something like “this topic is locked as he was a time waster”
just a thought???

MemberI think it needs to be case by case. There are a lot of good, old, discussions. But timewasters deserve banning and locking and tarring and feathering and NEW man panties.

MemberLike masked man has pretty much said it should be done by case by case. There are some good threads out there and some of like me are pretty new and might have things to add. If the person is a time waster or the topic goes way of topic then I think the thread could do with locking, as a way of say don’t waist people time and try to to think about what you post on set threads. I think it would all so be nice to ask the OP as well?

MemberIt’s not a problem when an interesting thread gets resurrected. It’s nice for new members to add their bit which can then generate some more interest in that particular topic.
What absolutely does my swede in are the threads where someone asks for a seller who can do * (insert activity/service/whatever and then for months and years afterwards newbie sellers post ‘OOOOO I can do that for you..’ when the thread is OLD and the buyer hasn’t been online for months.
I can’t imagine how complex it would be to lock a thread after a certain amount of time has lapsed. Would we have to make a note of the thread and revisit it after 6 months just to lock it? That’s an awful lot of work just because a few numpties are so keen to sell that they don’t engage brain and access common sense….

MemberHaving been with Panty Hog for quite some time now,if the forum is quiet i find great pleasure in reading old posts and remembering who they were written by,wondering ”where and what they might be doing today.
Then again i’m just being sentimental i suppose.Just a thought.;)

KeymasterI’m not sure that all old threads need to be locked. As Anna said, sometimes a person may have a legitimate reason for posting to an old thread. It may be better if, as some have mentioned, we say that if someone thinks a particular thread should be locked for whatever reason, that they just say so. Any of the moderators or myself can then lock the thread.
I will go ahead and lock the thread that brought this topic up. If you see others that really should become read only, just give one of us a shout.

PS. meyerlansky123 we need to get you a profile pic 🙂
