After reading the wonderful things bill from panty trust said, I feel like I need to make the leap to paid hosting. I’m definitely established, as far as I can tell from orders, so I’m sure it’s financially feasible.
Is anyone affiliated with a good host? I’d like to help someone within the community. I’m looking for something that is around or below $10 to $15 per month.
What does everyone else use? I know I asked this before, but I looked in the seller forum and I couldn’t find the right topics.
I also want to get a banner on PH after that is settled. But I guess thats a question for another thread.
thanks.
September 17, 2007 at 4:41 am #17368anniMemberI’m looking at lunar pages which will be $140 for 2 year service.
Seems expensive, but it’s only $5 per month.
September 17, 2007 at 5:05 am #17369anniMemberNow I’m looking at http://www.adult-website-hosting.com/web-hosting-plans.htm.
It’s only $30 a year! How much bandwidth do I need? Is 5GB enough?
It seems like plenty, but what if I feel like fixing up my site?

September 17, 2007 at 5:16 am #17370hotxxxblondeMemberWhat about godaddy?
September 17, 2007 at 6:28 am #17374gemma_ypgMemberI don’t know anything about the company but the rates look good. It comes with CPanel which gives you groovy stats and lets you auto-install a whole bunch of great free stuff.
I don’t know how much bandwidth sellers get after they’re more well known than me so I can’t really comment on that, but it does say that you can upgrade at any time, so I guess it should be heaps for a while.

September 17, 2007 at 2:09 pm #17388Ruby RedMemberYeah, go daddy is great…you can have different plans per your budget…economy is about 7 dollars a month and deluxe is 9 per month, but if you buy a year, they take a percentage off. And they’re available to help you online or via phone. The phone number isn’t an 800 # so, email may be best.

September 17, 2007 at 7:53 pm #17398anniMemberWhen did they start making people pay for renting webspace AND pay to rent the name. Thats like renting your apartment AND paying an extra free to use the address on business cards or something.
Oh well, it’s totally worth it. Any real estate on the internet can become prime.
September 17, 2007 at 8:10 pm #17400anniMemberI went for DWHS Inc. I let you guys know if I have any problems with them. I had an automated verification and now I’m ready to build my site. Less than 5 minutes. Wow.
September 17, 2007 at 9:02 pm #17403Ruby RedMembergl…I’d love to check it out. Wonder if I can switch if I find a better one lol

You mean the fee to register the domain and then the hosting fee? I think it’s always been that way as far as I knew.
September 18, 2007 at 2:30 am #17412adminKeymasterYes, you’ve always had to pay for a domain name and web hosting both. One stores your files and one sends people to your files. Just the way it is I suppose.

October 6, 2007 at 2:28 pm #17709AnonymousGuestI hate godaddy.
It is NOT easy to use. Very confusing, and I consider myself rather computer literate and full of common sense.
I have always been with Dreamhost.
I dont remember what I’m paying a month, I think it’s $13.95 – it was $9.95 – but I added a secure server for my webstore – so that costs me a bit more. They have more space than you can ever use, and any feature you could want.Â
My only gripe is when something goes wrong, it can take a bit to get resolution – but, you always do get the problem fixed in a polite manner, in terms you can understand.
Of course, they allow adult hosting.
Good luck!Â
October 8, 2007 at 8:45 am #17742anniMemberI’ve been with DHWS Inc. for a month or so and have had only one complaint…you can only have one SQL database at a time and the shopping carts they offer are lame.
Other than that they are very timely with anwering tickets and have a lot of add ons.
It was totally worth it cause now I can have css pages and php pages and host my own pictures.
Screw you photobucket! fu
