Hi there, have never used mooncup but tried Instead, a similiar idea. It worked pretty well cept the messiness involved with emptying the cup after, but am sure with practice you can get it down. With the instead you can have sex and everything, not sure if the same with cup. Was a bit better than tampon not as uncomfortable, definitely worth a try if you are fed up with plugging. Sorry if that sounded gross

You definitley can’t have sex with the Mooncup, it’s quite large and holds the fluid and tissue securely, although I did only use it for the last day.

I’m positive that it’ll be fine on heavier days.  It’s been cleaned and put away now for next month.

I don’t think you can be gross when talking about these things, the only way to deal with taboo subjects is to talk about them.

Can anyone provide a link for Instead?

Instead is disposable (and not that cheap, anyway).  :(  From a cost perspective I think you’re better off with the Mooncup.

I have a trial pack of these, I thought I could use them while I cam so I don’t have to take the week off! But there’s no way I could fit a vibe up there with that thing in there, it’s massive  Maybe I’m not using it right?

Those Insteads are downright scary! Far too big surely?  You could poach an egg in them!

Have you seen the sex part of the video? A woman says that her husband can’t tell when she is on her period…is she for real?

Even the postman knows when I am on my period  mad! Wild hair, spots, permanent scowl… :cheer:

Even if I could have sex on my period I wouldn’t….grrrrrrrr

LOL luckily I get major meds for my period so I dont feel any pain, not good for too much else but laying in bed though LOL sometimes get in the mood LOL. Yes the insteads are disposable but I think I would want something like that to be for health reasons but once instead is in place fits just like a diaphram.

Well I’m with Team Mooncup  🙂

All you need to do is boil it for a few minutes to sterilise it , and pop it back into it’s cute drawstring bag for another month.

No more ruined knickers, no more dribbles down my leg, no more  searching out the strings with a mirror and a flashlight….

Can we gross the guys out some more do you think?

I’ve never lost a string inside myself…  Maybe I have a short vagina…  Or have used tampons with long strings…

I’m pleased to hear about your Mooncup!  :)  My period starts on Friday night, I’ll be having a lovely time with my ultra-thin maxi pads.  🙂

I used the Keeper for several years and appreciated it, and more recently I have loved the disposable Instead cups.

IME…they’re MUCH less expensive than anything else (even the Insteads), and in general more convenient, especially since they only need to be changed half as often (or even less).

But they are rather a lot messier.  Even under perfect circumstances you get more blood on your hands than with tampons, and spills and gushes still do happen.  What I’ve found works best is a combination of cup and just-in-case pad for the heaviest days of my flow, and cup or tampon (depending on whether I’m going to have handy access to a sink) for the light days.

I could see the husband not knowing if it’s a light flow day, cause it’s just a tiny bit inside the cup…but poke it with a willy on a heavy flow day and he’s surely gonna feel the gush!  Want to gross the guys out..one simple word…CLOT!

Cup of tea…I confess it is rather *my* cup of tea.  To me, menstrual blood smells & tastes like really rare steak, which I always crave during my period anyhow.  And I am disappointed never to have had  a partner that recognizes it as the “fountain of femininity” that I feel it is.  I have read about female supremacist movements where the Ladies in control require their vassals to be regularly urinated on (or even drink urine) as a symbol of submission to female power.  I’ve always felt that being marked with or consuming menstrual blood is so much more potent a symbol of womanhood than that!

I’ve been told by a sub, who enjoys drinking female urine direct from the source,  that if they drink enough they consume enough female hormones to lose facial hair and grow small breasts.  Talk about that for female supremacy, our hormones are stronger then theirs!
