I have been strugling to find a payment processor that accepts adult sites.? No chex is great for the UK market but 70% of my site traffic is US based.? A few other sites I visit seem to be raving about AlertPay.

One thing to look out for with that company is they practice a Paypal style refund system. If a gent says you didn’t send panties (Usually just the word panties is enough to get them a refund) and has the intent of scamming you they will give him his money back from your account without your say. He’ll have his sniifing fun having paid zip, and you’ll be out of pocket.
Personally I think that shouldn’t be allowed but such is life. It’s an open door to scammers who often check which payment system they can find with a glitch in it. Nochex and PPPay do not use this method so are safe.
Let us know if you find them any good.

November 22, 2005 at 12:12 am #5021KinkyGhirlMemberHmmm now Jess I did not realise that!! Its sad when these people spend time thinking up scams instead of paying for what the want/need, grrr I will let you know how I get on with it. The other half has a retail site and im seriously thinking of just going thru his merchant account, only problem is any money made would then be part of hs company profits etc. Does anyone know is international bank transfers are possible or financially viable??
November 22, 2005 at 6:53 am #5025darkhairedkarenMemberI’m going to check it out. :) It might be an option if you’re dealing with return, trusted customers (that won’t scam you).
November 22, 2005 at 1:08 pm #5028KinkyGhirlMemberIt seems viable anyway, alot of the Domme websites are raving about it during chat, especially since the old favorite Ikobo stopped taking adult sites about a year ago now. US payment methodes are a right pain in my ass just now im telling ya
November 22, 2005 at 6:07 pm #5030darkhairedkarenMemberThe fees don’t seem too bad…Â 5% to fund by credit card and $1 to receive funds (personal account)…Â Be interested to hear anyone’s experience in using them!
March 29, 2006 at 8:07 pm #7166redheadedgoddessMemberHi everyone,
I just signed up for an Alertpay account. They have a secured account that is geared towards ‘mature content’. They are offering chargeback prevention and the fees seem reasonable (FREE TO OPEN – Receive Fee: 3.9% + $0.59 per transaction). I will let you know if I have any success with them. Have a great day!xoxoxoxo

They lost their merchant account and currently can’t accept funding by credit cards, only mail in or bank. They also screwed people over with the “referral program” where they indicate that you’ll get a reward for referring others to signup. However, once you have referrals and ask them about the rewards, they say the program has been discontinued. Interestingly, they still promote the rewards program on their site as if it were business as usual.

Wow.
I didn’t realize they had lost their merchant account – what’s the story behind that? (And will they be getting credit card functionality back in the future? Otherwise, they are basically what Ebanned has said Madpay could be – no credit cards, but bank and mail-in.)
A while back I dug through the website and saw that you got rewarded for referrals IF the person you referred transacted at least $250 in purchases with AlertPay (i.e. AlertPay made money off them.) Not very lucrative for the referrers, but I can accept a set-up like that. However, if they are not rewarding referrals at all, I wouldn’t be very happy about that (especially if they are misleading people, saying that they do/will.)
Alas, IMO they still work better than anything else available, right now (except for cash in the mail.)
March 30, 2006 at 12:36 pm #7179Kinky KateMemberBack on Mar.17th I emailed AlertPay to question why they are still advertizing the referral program if it’s “discontinued”. I didn’t get a response back. 🙁
July 16, 2006 at 5:42 am #9186smppleaseMemberI recently signed up with alertpay after a client suggested it to me..as of last week credit cards are now accepted again for payment and shopping cart and merchant tools are said to be coming very shortly…I am crossing my fingers because I have been losing customers since paypal axed me.
August 3, 2006 at 10:04 am #9420jerzeetoematoesMemberWe just signed up with them. Hope they work out better than the others.
August 17, 2006 at 5:42 am #9593smppleaseMemberONe alertpay problem so far…..It takes 7-8 days for clients to get their money into their accounts to be able to pay then another couple days to get the money into your account…it can be frustrating
