Payment types – Cheque/Money Order

Hi Everyone!

My name’s Nicky and I’m new here. I’m in the process of setting up my own website and I have a question about payment types. I’ve had a look around to see if I could answer my question before posting but couldn’t see anything so apologies if I’m repeating anything.

I’m thinking the best way to accept payment will be having money transfered directly into my account which is fine. I’ve noticed though that some people accept cheques. How do you do this? I’m concerned about giving out my name from the point of view of if I’ve given out my sort code and account number I would think it would be quite hard to use these details on their own to commit fraud, however if I were to then give out my name and address a fraudster would have most of the info they need to set up direct debits with my details etc. Also do you give out your own address? Am I overthinking this?!

Also, I’m sure this is probably a daft question but what is a money order? Is it like a postal order?

I think a money order is the US equivilent of our postal order. I assume so anyway.

I think there may be a problem with the Panty University link – I clicked on the link for it in the ‘popular sections’ box at the top but it’s coming back with an error message? Is there anyone I should let know?
