I’m a little (very actually) confused as to how i conceal my identity…
If I got a PO box would I still have to use my name on the return address or would it be just the po box address? (first and last?)
And other than gift certificates, what payment methods are there to ensure the safety of my identity? From what I’ve read here so far Alert Pay does request private information…what do they disclose though?I’m from Canada, so any fellow Canadians (but not limited to) please share your insights…
Charlotte.
May 12, 2009 at 2:22 pm #25511adminKeymasterIn the USA a post office box user just needs to give out the box number. The sender can put anything or nothing on the name line, as long as the box number is correct. Anyone though can make a request to the post office for the name of the person or business that rents a particular P.O. box number.
I believe Alertpay only uses your email address, I don’t think that they give out your name when someone pays you. A seller might be able to answer that question better though.

May 12, 2009 at 2:53 pm #25512SerenaMemberHello Charlotte, I sent you a PM, but here it is 🙂
Your ID cannot be hidden once you become a AP verified member, if you actively use the account, you are required to verify yourself after 3 months ish. I have been using AP for nearly 2 years and I have never had any troubles letting buyers know my read name, but I do realise sellers have differet needs.
SP Verification process is very easy btw.. you get to deal with someone with a name and a proper email address, which is very refreshing 🙂May 13, 2009 at 5:33 am #25513CharlotteMemberThanks for the advice.
The reason why I am asking is that I don’t want my family and (some of my) friends to find out about this since being criticized in my everyday life will ruin the excitement for me. I want this to be only between myself and this community.May 16, 2009 at 2:50 am #25526CharlotteMemberSo I went over the posts in panty hog regarding identity and payment options. Some sellers say there is no way to avoid revealing your real name and some say that one shouldn’t reveal the full name and home address. So what am I left with?
I’ve got a relatively uncommon full name and I really don’t want anyone tracing it back to my everyday life just for security reasons.
Money orders in Canada require full name
Blank cheques and concealed cash…? not particularly safe for the buyer
Alert Pay..I will call them on Monday to clarify
PayPal – NO.
Gift certificates – a good option.I don’t wanna be overly paranoid but I just want to avoid being scammed. I don’t think I will be getting a merchant license since its way too expensive.
If there is no other options to conceal my full name..do I just use my initials? or an initial for my first name?
Sorry for the long confusion.
By the way lovely panty people (buyers and sellers)
I just wanted to say thank you for being so open, welcoming and helpful! I really am grateful for all the advice and direction I’ve been getting since day one.Charlotte 🙂
May 16, 2009 at 4:22 pm #25529SerenaMemberHey Charlotte
Keeping your ID private is becoming harder and harder.
Due to the high level of scams and fraud, banks, and any other financial services will want to know who their users are and where they live.My only advise is not to let paranoia get the best of you, be sensible and make sure you get to know your buyers.
As far as I know, only one seller on this site had to retire because her cover got blown, and she really did it to herself! :ohmy:Money orders in Canada require full name – get them sent to a PO BOX
Concealed cash…? not particularly safe for the buyer – get them sent to a PO BOX at the sender own risk
Alert Pay..I will call them on Monday to clarify – You ll get away by having your first name initial and your surname = C Smith
PayPal – NO- DEF NO
Gift certificates – a good option – safe and soundHonestly hon, don’t get too worried, it can be done safely! 😉
