If u too are in the Uk and have to deal with RM then maybe you can help  🙂

I have a regular, who i do trust, but i have sent him three packages which he says he has never received. i don’t want to lose him as a regular as he is a bit of a sweetie, and never a problem before, but i feel like I am pouring money down the drain!

I did send from same post office twice, but third time just popped it in a post box so no human contact at this end… was going to send registered so he had to sign, but then realised i would have to give out my addy, which i def don’t want to do, and how on earth could i explain the contents?  😉 :cheer:

anyone have any ideas? anyone had guys who have been perfect for months, and then turn to get a load of freebies? or is the postal system really rather screwed?

    Thanks!

    Hi Tiff
I live in the UK too..I also use royal mail all the time for posting packages and every 1 I send is Royal Mail Recorded 1st Class..What you do is instead of putting your home address you put your local post office post code instead and nothing else..so for instance if your local post office is ab1 2cd thats all you put in the return address bit..I know this is true and allowed as I have a friend who is a postie and he found out for me and this is what I have done for the last 12 months..It means then you can post with confidence knowing for him to get it he will have to sign for it..PLUS YOU ARN’T GIVING AWAY YOUR EXACT LOCATION..
    Hope this helps

    Hi Marie,
Thanks for this – a great way of getting around it.
He knows the city I live in anyway, but at least this way I know I’m not suddenly going to open my door one morning…a girl has to be careful right? Plus my roomates might be rather surprised!  :cheer:
Does Royal Mail Recorded 1st Class mean that you can track it too? See when they signed etc?
Hopefully this way I keep both of us happy!

I always ask for proof of posting on my parcels, it’s free and if I do end up in a dispute with a customer I can show that it has been sent. Theoretically I could also claim compensation if it is lost, but I don’t fancy explaining to Royal mail what I’ve been sending so I think I’d just send out a replacement!

You can track recorded delivery through the Royal Mail website, and also by phone. I have a PO Box, so I use that address if someone asks for recorded.

Unfortunately some areas are worse than others for post going missing, which could explain why it’s one customer having problems. Since I’ve lived at this address I’ve had quite a few things disappear totally, and others regularly delivered to a similar address a few streets away (luckily to someone honest enough to bring them to me) or that arrive ridiculously late.  mad

    Kisses, Jennifer xxx
