Yes I completely agree with you there Jess.
WELL DONE PK – it must be REALLY hard to keep track of everything – especially this year with SO many categories. We all admire you PK and are eternally grateful! I don’t know how you do it and keep your cool you wonderful man!  B)
December 19, 2006 at 6:25 pm #11402AnnaMemberI have a point to make about this as well, about sellers nominating I mean. The awards are for the last 12 months or so, give or take so how can new sellers nominate anybody for anything other than what is directly related to them, I mean how do they know, what do they compare it against?
Or should categories have some sort of criteria just like the main award? Some sort of guidance even?
December 19, 2006 at 6:36 pm #11409AnnaMemberWell a new seller would be within the last 12 months or so, but as the title is New, then that would be a clue. I meant in relation to helping new sellers or friendliest to new buyers.

Sellers could have nominated themselves or by their friends/family.  Sure it took a couple of minutes to do, but surely she cannot feel good about herself by “winning” a race against herself.  I know I certainly wouldnt feel comfortable winning something by default. And what is the point when nobody needs to even bother voting !!
December 19, 2006 at 6:53 pm #11411Cindy_PantyParadiseMemberAt the end of the day it is PKs decision on how to run the awards and I trust his judgement on whatever he decides is best for the community, but I think it was fair comment enough to raise the points 🙂
December 19, 2006 at 6:59 pm #11414FetishKittenMemberI think that this year we should allow it or at least concider it.
I wondered earlier what the single nominations for catagories would mean when voting came around, but looking at the girls that have been nominated in only one catagory i think we can all say that the casts would have come from fans and buyers who spent the time writing and nominating them.Sure if everyone agrees that next year that we shouldnt do that then fine…But it seems like next year is going to have alot of upheavel as it is, if we are possibly changing what sellers can nominate in amoung other things…So why not leave it this year and learn from the mistake?
I’d hate for people who were really getting into the nominations and the awards this year to be put off.
Any ideas everyone?
And I agree that PK will choose whats best for the Community, and a HUGE thankyou to him for all his hard work so farDecember 19, 2006 at 7:03 pm #11416mikegukMember[quote author=admin link=topic=1670.msg10589#msg10589 date=1166547219]
Thank you for pointing that out Mike. I did amend the nomination because as you stated, this seller was not yet eligible for the Seller of The Year award. I check in as I’m getting ready to leave for work in the morning. I had just enough time this morning to make the change, but not enough time to comment until now. After this year’s Awards are wrapped up, we can talk about changes people would like to see for next year. This is how we went from one category last year to many this year.😉 PK
Thanks PK, I wanted to make it fair on every one else.
Cheers
MikeDecember 19, 2006 at 7:07 pm #11418FetishKittenMemberArrrgh…Forget it…
This is pointless lol.Whatever we decide good luck everyone.
AND VOTE ON WHATEVER CATAGORIES ARE LEFT AFTER THIS! :cheer:
Make sure all the hard work PK and your buyers went to isnt wasted 😉December 19, 2006 at 7:09 pm #11419Cindy_PantyParadiseMemberNominations are entirely different from voting. Â Its great there are so many categories this year but unfortunately not enough sellers to “go round”. Â It is wonderful that people took the time out to nominate but if there is only one person in a category, it does not make sense to have it available for voting. Â It can remain as a nomination but it cannot be anything else because it will be utterly pointless to vote. Â
Where is the fun in that? Â The awards are supposed to be an exciting and nail biting experience.
There simply cannot be a voting area for a one seller race! Its a pure plain fact. Â I am not being nasty, bitchy, horrid, I am simply saying what is completely obvious.
B)Maybe PK can do a special acknowledgement prize for those girls.
December 20, 2006 at 1:11 am #11443Kinky KateMemberMy two cents, for what it’s worth….
For nominations:Â I think sellers should only nominate other sellers for categoeies that are relevant to another seller, like…most helpful to new sellers (they could have experienced this 1st hand), best auctions (another seller can see auctions & appreciate the presentation & effort the listing seller took with their auctions), best blog/ website ( a seller can view/read/appreciate/participate in another sellers website/blog…etc.
I don’t think self-nominations are in the spirit of the Awards.Voting: I think people should have to be logged in to vote. If the awards are promoted well enough in advance, people will know to join in enough time anyway, if they are informed this will be necessary. Wouldn’t anyone interested in voting likely be interested in being a member here? Even if they aren’t an active poster, there is still a wealth of info for the panty fan!
Sellers voting for themselves doesn’t seem to me to be quite right either.Nominations are made in preparation for voting. If there is only one canidate in a category, there is no voting to be done, therefore no winner. Recognition for being the only seller nominated for that category would be nice, but that isn’t the same as winning the category.
Like I said, my opinion. Everyone’s entitled. -Kate
