Hi Kitty 🙂
I always had a problem with the Pill too – and I tried almost every damn variety going! But only discovered my IUD living in Germany. After being pregnant twice in succession I got used to not having periods and I couldnt face it every month knowing it would be worse.Â
I tried this IUD with some trepidation but its the best thing I have ever had. I tried the cap years ago after coming off the pill but for some reason I couldnt climax with it in and I couldnt stand all the shoving it up and pulling it out – the damn thing used to spring everywhere and it was such a bugger to get in, covered in slippery spermicide – it would either shoot inside you at 100mph and make you yelp or fire across the room like a dome shaped bullet! *guys stop reading and laughing – I can see you!*
OK The stick is not really a stick, its more of a “chip” lol.. It hasnt come over to America yet – my friend had to fly to Germany to get hers changed last week! (she lives in North Carolina). The chip is very small, rather like a 1cm long matchstick and thats it. 🙂
The hormone IUD I have is not like the pill, chip or jab and does not push hormones around your blood stream.
My IUD contains only a “topical” hormone and stays only in the uterine area and just stops the build up of lining – you still ovulate and an egg can still get fertilized however the egg will not be able to attach itself to the walls of your uterus because there will be no lining there (because of the hormone has prevented the lining build up). The egg will just be passed out naturally.
The hormones in the IUD do not interfere with your body in any other way, so if you have had problems with the pill like me then you should be alright with the hormone IUD.
The great thing about this is that if it DOESNT work for you (however you MUST give it a while to calm down) then you can have it taken out at anytime. If you have the jab or something and it doesnt agree with you, you have a slight problem.
..why are the guys insisting on torturing themselves and reading all about girl’s bits? eh? eh? eh? lol
Love Cinds x
p.s. Im 35 this year and fit as a fiddle 🙂February 26, 2006 at 8:12 pm #6401Kittys~ElixxxirMemberHeya Cindy! …OMFGÂ :ohmy:She flew from North Carolina to Germany…to have it changed?.omg!! lol ….but ty so much for all the HELPFUL info..I’m gonna call around sometime soon and see if anyone here has/offers that type of IUD..Thanks again Cindy, you’re the best..Hugs!!

February 28, 2006 at 1:46 am #6423darkhairedkarenMemberOMG, I’m a girl too, but reading all this stuff (about things implanted into your body)… I think I’m gonna be sick! 🙁
You can have no periods while on the pill, too… You just don’t take week #4 off. (Discuss with your doctor – I know some don’t approve of doing this long-term, but I’ve done it before to avoid getting my monthly during a beach vacation or something.)
You can also get the lining of your uterus lazered and destroyed, to stop menstruating. You have to be sure you will never, never, never want anymore (or any) kids, though.
February 28, 2006 at 2:42 am #6424tastykacieMemberSo I would like to take back my post about depo from a few days ago. It seems that after 4 months of nothing, I now have spotting, and it happened in the middle of preparing an order, so I had to contact the customer, apologize, and put everything on hold till I’m back to normal. Which hopefully will be soon! I think I reminded my body it was forgetting something every month. Grrr! Sorry, just a vent!
