I’ve gotten some weird emails yesterday. 4 of them have the subject: “Test”,? one has “vdujgrbfvvhbosy” for the subject with attachments on all 5 of them. 4 are returned “not delivered”.? The reason I am mentioning it on here is because one of the “test” emails if from someone on here, plus I didn’t start getting any of? these strange emails until I started posting here. As far as the returned not delivered emails, I didn’t even send those out in the first place!? mad? So my question is why am I getting these test emails and returned undelivered emails? I want to get to the bottom of this. Thank you!

It may be a self sending virus Jules, (could be wrong though)  maybe one sent without intention. I’ve had one of these before that “spidered” it’s way through peoples email address books. Often once it’s opened it sets up home in your computer resending itself on to every address on your computer. I don’t think it’s anything to do with panty hog if it a virus, just that maybe it’s spidered off using addresses here. I do get loads of spam from this place too though (DON’t do it sellers!! You just end up in the spam filter!)

I’ve had every damn virus going! Make sure your firewall is up, grab yourself the AVG download (scans all your emails) and Zonealarm (scans everything that tries to enter your computer without permission) and Ad-awre (gets rid of trojans etc) you’ll be sorted. They’re all free downloads that don’t fill your computer with gumf too

There are viruses going around as Jess explained they spread through email. “Panty Hog” isn’t downloading anything to your computer, it isn’t coming from our site. It is possible that a spider could find your email address here (or on any web site for that matter)  if you have it displayed. You have the option of hiding your email address. Look to hide/show it in your profile area. People can still contact you with the PM function. Please elaborate though on what you said about someone here sending you an email with a virus. Are you saying a member here did this?

Hey, Jess if you don’t mind, would you also clarify what you mean by the above. It sounds as if you are saying that Amy or I are sending you out spam?  What is it that sellers should “not do”?

    Thanks,
    PK

?I get these all the time and its called Phishing. ?Emails are used as a cover up to pretend they are from a certain person when in fact they are not. ?So they are actually “stolen” identities to try to convince you to open the email or attachment as you are more likely to trust the email address.

Whatever you do, do not follow any link or open any attachments because that is most likely a virus. ?Just delete them Jules. ?

Asshats are everywhere on the web collecting email information from forums all over the net – and there are lots of ways of doing it. ?I also get emails supposedly from girls here but I know they are not really from them. ?I even got one from myself !!!

My PC is like Fort Knox and I am 100 percent sure I have absolutely no heebie jeebies on my pc and I am confident that 90 percent of my junk mail is viruses from forged emails!!!

There is no getting to the bottom of it unless we caught all the asshats who phish emails and think its funny to spam people with viruses.

    xxx love cinds xxx
p.s. However Jess is also right, make sure your PC is protected!!!

No, not you guys. I mean sellers spamming their own panty sites and (mainly) auction sites. They spam using their own sites email addresses so they just end up in my bin cos others have reported it as spam. I’m sure when they email their customers using that address that email too ends up in the filter because of the spam they’ve sent out previously. You get me?

My Panty Hog mails now go straight to the bin too, I need to safe list you guys or I don’t ever see them.

Ps: When I previously got this virus it flew off in all directions and it wasn’t my fault. As soon as it gets a connection it’s off so I doubt it’s sent with intent. It’s rarely anyones fault.

Damnit!! why don’t I get any emails like this eh??

    lmao

Seriously though, these sounds like phishing emails, they’re probably forged so just delete them like Cindy said.

None of the emails that were supposedly self sent are in my address book to begin with. I never even saw them before this happened!? So how did my computer know where to send them?

I made sure my firewall is up, and I already have AVG. But I did download ZoneAlarm and Ad-aware. Thanks for the tip Jess!? 🙂

The one in question is kerisusedpanties. At least that is what it said on the email.? I’ve seen that name on here…

Here are the others (partially anyway):

    jimmykennedy03
    rebelnymph973
    cindy_mp4u
    ctimbinhan

    Has anyone heard of these?

By the way, thank you guys (and gals? ;)) I have deleted the emails and have added them to my “block addresses” list.? 😛

ooo! Cindy mp4u is Cindy Pantyparadise and I recognise Rebel Nympth from ebanned and Panty Trust.

Often when they resend themselves, they resend via any name that is on your computer, even if you’ve never emailed that person.

Like, you know when you get general emails and it is addressed or cc to many different people at the top? Well it could then read that information and the 10 email addresses located within that one email and resend it to all those people without you knowing. This is how I got it. That could expalin why the other panty girls are on that spiders hit list and why you got it.

It’s so hard to know which mails to open. Outside of panty seliing, if it’s in my junk mail then it stays there but you just never know if it’s a customer or not. If it looks sussed, dump it. Better safe than sorry.

I’m sure all those programs will root it out, little can get through all of those things and your service pack too. I just run them once a week and I’m sorted. Your com runs great once you’re rid of the bugs too. I still get ebay’s phishing mails though, I got one the other day so always check the link before clicking. Hope it’s all ok for you now Jules my hun!

    Hi Jules,

I think Delish is right, these spam emails tend to use either random names, or names in someone’s address book.? The email may have been sent to you via another infected PC.

I’d doubt that anyone on Phog would send anything iffy out.? The other scenario is that some asshat is sending out emails with a forged email address in the header.

In the latter case, the advice is the same, delete and don’t open any attachments.? These kind of emails are difficult to track back to the real source, though not impossible if you have all the email headers and can track back the IPs at each step in the route the email took to you.? Problem being that a forged email is likely to go through so many email relays in an attempt to hide the real originator.

My bet is you got a resent batch of emails as Delsih said.

Some resource sites that expain what these things are:

    Phishing

    Email Spoofing

Forged Email via virus infected PC

I believe Kerisusedpanties is an Ebanned seller.

(Just so my addled mind is clear: opening/viewing the e-mail is okay but opening any attachments is not?)

Hey Jules, the cindy_mp4u is actually my Yahoo email addy.  But I receive tons upon tons of spam from other yahoo emails too, along with phished (forged) emails from banks, PayPal and even one from Yahoo telling me if I didnt click the link then my account will be closed.

If you are concerned, I suggest you look at the headers of the emails you find suspicious and find the IP number. Do a look up and see where it came from.

If you still have the cindy_mp4u one I would be really interested where that came from 🙂 and Ill be happy to report it myself.

However, once you get on the web then its just something you have to expect. Alot of my mail is spam and forged emails and I just delete them all. Some I do open to check but I would NEVER follow a link or download ANYTHING unless I knew that person was sending me something or it had a PROPER message with it.

Its a big horrible world out there on the net and its filled with asshats finding every single way possible to spread viruses and trojans.  Just be careful and you will be fine 🙂

    Love CIndy xxx
