Ladies and Gentlemen!
I’d like to introduce myself and my new website!
      http://www.dirtypanties.com.au
My name is Nicola and together with my partner in crime Samantha we’ve created the newest and hottest used pantie website in Australia!
Come and check it out!
I hope you’ll let me be your dirty little secret 😉

February 2, 2008 at 9:39 am #19592AnnaMemberPaypal? Check 🙁
Eye cramping hard to read text? Check
Awkward navigation to browse panties? Check mad
Also, are your panties priced in Australian dollars or US dollars, this needs to be made clear because your biggest market could be the US.
$25 to ship internationally? On top of $40 for panties? You’re overpriced for the panty market outside of Australia, the reasons being:
Unknown
Faceless (Your choice of course but you can’t command top price)
UnverifiedYou should do well within Australia though.
Sort your text out though 🙂
February 2, 2008 at 10:20 am #19593SerenaMember$25 to ship internationally? Are you kidding?
Do you send them by well trained super fast talking pigeons?February 2, 2008 at 11:04 am #19594steveathomeMemberThanks for your feedback ladies.
Serena- Unfortunately pigeons are not an option at the moment due to the avian flu outbreak. The price for international postage is in Australian dollars, and postage prices vary by weight and country of destination, so I’ve decided on an average price for simplicity’s sake.
Anna- Thanks for the specific feedback, I’ll take many of your helpful suggestions on board. I shall amend the site to include a spiel about all prices being in Australian Dollars, and will increase the font size.
I appreciate that my prices are expensive for an unknown, but I’d rather maintain a standard then have to increase my prices later down the track, potentially annoying some customers. I aim to be, amongst other things, consistent. And I will certainly aim to be verified as soon as possible.Once again thanks for your replies.

February 2, 2008 at 1:10 pm #19595PonygirlMemberHi Nicola ;),
Welcome! It would be nice if your site included a little bit more about yourself, so the buyers can get to know you. Also, you state that you run the site with your friend, are you both going to be wearing the panties? This should be made clear to your buyers. If you are both wearing them then maybe you could have a section about you both and then they can choose who they want to wear them? The buyer doesn’t just want a random pair of panties. Try and personalise your site a bit, so it reflects your personality.
I actually kind of liked the layout. And the pictures are great, well done!
DON’T use Paypal though! Trust us.
February 2, 2008 at 1:12 pm #19596SerenaMemberHi Nicola
I don’t think $25 as an estimate simplifies things, if anything it might put buyers off a little. It is very high!
From a designer point of view, I do think your site is very nicely laid out, but I would get rid of the flash gallery as not everyone has the capacity to view/download adobe software. Do get rid of PayPal as well!Welcome to the Hog, hope you’ll have fun.
February 2, 2008 at 1:32 pm #19597jazzyMemberTrivial point i suppose but i do not like the term dirty panties.
Worn or used sounds more appealing to me.just a ”thought ”
;) Jazzy  😉

Do you send them by well trained super fast talking pigeons?LOL Serena
$25 is way too high, in fact it’s taking the piss, I’ve checked Gemma who is also an Australian seller and she only charges US$10 which is AU$11.07 for international packages.
Of course it’s entirely up to you what you sell for Nicola but as seasoned sellers we know what buyers are prepared to pay, and for what and we’re great at giving advice

Serena- Unfortunately pigeons are not an option at the moment due to the avian flu outbreak.
I think you were trying to be funny with the avian flu comment…I have researched the H5N1 strain among others, it’s def not funny. 🙁
Keep in mind the ladies here are experienced and educated, so try not to be as defensive…they really are trying to help. 🙂
And as Anna said, there are other girls from Australia, Gemma in particular, that charge much less for shipping. I can only speak for the U.S. but it’s 11.00 USD to ship internationally, so it must be comparable on your end.
As for your site, I like the pics, very nice…makes me want to get yet another camera 😉
Good luck to you both. smtFebruary 3, 2008 at 12:44 am #19602steveathomeMemberWow more replies! Fantastic!
I appreciated all the feedback I’ve received (I understand that tone can be misunderstood online but I assure you there is nothing defensive about my tone, I genuinely am happy to have such experience pantie connoisseurs as a resource 🙂
I will speak to Samantha (no she doesn’t wear the panties), and we’ll clarify this on the site) and see if she can add a postage calculator to the site to allow for accurate, individualized postage rates.
There also seems to be a lot of people who are against Paypal. Could I ask for the specifics regarding this?
Also, I’m planning on starting a blog on the site to communicate to customer my personality, as suggested by Ponygirl- thank you kindly, and was wondering what I should focus on. Daily goings on? Internal monologues? Personal sexual experiences/thoughts/insights?
Thanks again!
Nicola xoPS. Hi Ruby- Sorry if you found my comment to Serena offensive regarding the bird flu. My sense of humor isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, but if I was worried about being politically correct I wouldn’t be selling dirty panties online in the first place. If anyone else took offense please accept my apology.
PPS. Sam’s camera is pretty old, but she has really amazing lights that she uses when she does commercial shoots. It’s really hit or miss, as when they’re positioned from above, the down light emphasizes flaws and cellulite, but when they’re positioned just right they’re gorgeous.
February 3, 2008 at 7:07 am #19606Cindy_PantyParadiseMemberAnother new one who CANT BE BOTHERED TO READ…. below is copied and pasted from one of the 1000s threads on here that explains about using PayPal.
——————–
PAYPAL DO NOT ACCEPT PAYMENTS FOR ADULT SITES WHICH INCLUDE PANTY SITES.
IF YOU USE PAYPAL THEY WILL FREEZE THE SELLERS ACCOUNT AND POSSIBLY THE BUYERS AND YOU CAN NOT ONLY NEVER USE YOUR ACCOUNT AGAIN YOU CAN NEVER USE THE SAME DETAILS TO OPEN A NEW ACCOUNT.
This is the LAST time I am ever going to say this on here – if you are too ignorant to find out basic rules then it is your own fault if you get caught.

Apart from that Nicola – nice site.
February 3, 2008 at 12:01 pm #19609FetishKittenMemberHi Nicola
I wont add anything to Cindy’s comment about paypal, as you can tell we are all pretty bored of repeating the same thing. It seems that on every other thread this is mentioned…and I’m not kidding! Just stay well clear of them.
On the blogging front, be yourself, blog about life, love, sex, whatever makes YOU tick. The best blogs are the ones where the girls are just themselves, the ones that are all sex, and all “this is what i’m selling” rarely last long, and to be honest they are just dull. We all know that people have lives that arent just sex sex sex (though we sometimes wish it was!) and your buyers will want to know you are real. Post what you want, make it honest, and only reveal the things you want people to know.Â
It’s great that you are listening to peoples comments and taking them on board. Some would get insulted and just dismiss it. You obviously want to be here and sell panties, and if you do some more research and take on board anything we’ve said that you think makes sense then good luck to you
February 3, 2008 at 12:08 pm #19610ProdromoiMemberA little late to this thread, but just to add to the existing comments…
Your site doesn’t present a particularly appealing front to the world. Not everyone on the internet uses the same kind of computer – all I see is a fussy background and lots of empty white boxes; no gallery, no information, no contact details… no nothing. You think that’s going to get you custom?
And on the subject of custom… charging between 25 and 50 AU dollars (roughly 22-44 USD) isn’t just ridiculous, but it’s insulting to potential customers who are smart enough to know better.
February 3, 2008 at 1:51 pm #19611SerenaMemberWhilst we are on the PP subject, did you know that PP allows something called chargeback?! basically anyone that pays you money with PP can recall the payment at any point!
how shit is that?
Yet another reason not to use them tosspots!February 3, 2008 at 3:08 pm #19612gemma_ypgMemberHey all,
I remember when I set up my site I had a hell of a time figuring out what to charge for shipping. The auspost website pretends it’s going to be helpful but it’s like dealing with the bureaucratic levels of hell.
I also didn’t have a kitchen scale to figure out how much things were going to weigh on average. After a while it all made sense though. The express shipping cost really is outrageous though, I don’t offer it any more because it’s not worth it for the ‘faster’ *cough* delivery.

PS I haven’t disappeared, I’m just obsessed with fish right now, long story! 😛
