:buck2: alright this is deadly boring but which postage services have uk sellers found good as I’ve had a request for overnight postage to the us and the cheapest I could find was 34 quid for 3 days { :idiot2:}
Similarly what do people put on those customs forms because I really dont want to write used women’s underwear…I think buyers might object somehow !!!
January 25, 2007 at 6:04 pm #12246AnnaMemberI use ordinary post as I can’t imagine anyone would pay that much extra when there are plenty of sellers in their own country! My parcels have taken 5 days, with Royal Mail, to get to the US and the buyers have always been very happy.
CN22 labels – hankies, ties, socks or whatever the buyer specifies.
January 25, 2007 at 7:29 pm #12253FetishKittenMemberI;ve had packages take as little as 5 days too, but as long as 4 weeks!!! Sadly its a bit haphazzard and its why i rarely post to the US. I only have one regular Canadian buyer and I send to him purely because I like him so much. We’ve already had one pair go walkies though.
grrrrr mad
I checked out postal addresses for me too, safe ones to recieve items and presents, and so many are rediculously priced
Oddly enough The post office is dirt cheap!!
I’ll be getting one with them ASAPJanuary 25, 2007 at 7:56 pm #12255lololMemberI just put “clothing”
January 26, 2007 at 10:52 am #12272TabithaMember🙂 cool , good advice about a receiving address because I’ve had a couple of people wanting to send me stuff and I really dont want to give out my home address .
Have also just been told if you pt gift on the customs form they dont have to pay tax the other side.January 26, 2007 at 11:43 am #12277Cindy_PantyParadiseMember[quote author=Tabitha link=topic=1815.msg11573#msg11573 date=1169808749]
Have also just been told if you pt gift on the customs form they dont have to pay tax the other side.Dont believe everything you hear, that is an old wives tale. If it looks suspicious no matter if you put gift it can still get seized, opened and charged. However, charges are not normally incurred unless you yourself put a high value of the worth of goods inside.
So, to make sure it slips through the customs good, put a return dummy address label on it, mark the CN22 sticker as gift, socks or clothing, correct weight and put a really silly amount like £5.00 or £1.00 for the value. If you start putting on value more than approx 15 dollars or 15 pounds, be careful.
Trust me I have done this for years and customs are a bitch, especially in Canada and Australia .. the more you play along with what they need to see rather than what they want to see, the more they will respect your package 🙂
January 26, 2007 at 2:41 pm #12284TabithaMemberaha! yes australian customs are very severe :angry: my cousin got in trouble going home because my mum had packed him some food which had dried fruit in it!
I wonder if they were just peckish ! :cheer:January 26, 2007 at 5:02 pm #12287AnnaMemberMy Australian buyer reported that his package had been opened but everything was there when he finally received it. I suppose panties are less of a threat than sultanas?
January 27, 2007 at 9:07 am #12292TabithaMemberwell a nicely aimed sultana can do a lot of damage! I’ve just finished a night shift and every things gone a bit pink and fuzzy if you know what I mean smt
