I bought a more expensive webcam once to use during the Golden Panty Awards but since updating my operating system, I can’t use it anymore so now I’m just using a $40 Logtech cam from Bestbuy. Honestly, I don’t see too much difference at all between the quality of the $170 cam and the $40 cam. Unless they’ve made some big strides over the past year or so cams don’t seem to have reached their full potential yet.
As far as the camcorder, I haven’t bought one in several years as I am holding out for the price drop on the HD camcorders. The Thanksgiving sales aren’t far off so hopefully there will be some deals. Whatever you do though, spend the little bit extra to make sure your camcorder has image stabilization, it is well worth the extra cost.
Hopefully others that have bought more recently may have some good advice.
