Hi
I wouldn’t touch Western Union, it’s only suitable for sending money between people with 100% trust, ie family.
If you look at all the eBay scams one of the common elements is Western Union. You go to one of their offices, pay the money over the counter (or can be done with debit/credit card over phone), they send instruction to the office where the recipient will be collecting the cash. This is the problem, cash, you can’t cancel it, there is no way of tracing the recipient. Because of this I’d be very surprised if anyone would send payment this way. There are no guarantees and no come back.
I saw a TV documentary on eBay scams and they advised to never use Western Union, unless sending cash to family.
However if your buyer wants to pay, then he’s the one taking the biggest risk, not you, but you would have to go down to one of their offices and collect the cash, bit of a hassle really, and that’s assuming one of their offices is nearby. I have one near me but it’s in a dodgy part of town.Â
There are loads of other ways without using Western Union.
Try postal orders, they are like cash.
Hope this helps
