I haven’t posted a bid yet, even though I had once or twice using my old nom de plum.
I just wanted to say that it looks amazing and I tried out a few things. It was simple to post an item and easy to navigate.
However, there is an option to use paypal and I was wondering if it was there because it can’t be taken off or what? I was thinking this might be one of those things that is confusing newbies.
Other than that, I can’t wait to post my first item as Annilyn. I am still working on my site and my pantytrust page which has been switched over.
Pantybid will be my first stop.
PS. Sorry if this has been covered already.

About the Paypal… I’d agree, it might well confuse newbies.November 7, 2008 at 6:25 pm #24080AnnaMemberWhy the hell is Paypal even an option?

that is exactly what i was thinking when i made that other thread and mentioned my usage.
if we are not allowed to by PP’s TOS, and everyone tells me not to use it, then why is there an option to accept paypal payments?
i wish we could have it removed for the sake of girls like me who almost got my account taken away.
November 7, 2008 at 8:26 pm #24083adminKeymasterPaypal is enabled on Pantybid because there are some categories for items that can be paid for via Paypal such as commercial movies and new sex toys. There is a disclaimer right next to the box that you have to check to enable Paypal that states you can’t use Paypal for items such as used panties.
I’ve been updating the Pantybid site with new files this week so I’ll double-check that this warning is still there and easily noted.
I’m really on the fence about taking the Paypal option off the site entirely because some sellers can use it legitimately for specific items. If I put a prominent notice that is supposed to be read right next to the option and people ignore it…I’m sort of feeling like McDonalds must have when they were forced to put warnings on their cups stating that their Hot Coffee and Hot Chocolate may be…hot.

November 7, 2008 at 10:01 pm #24086PonygirlMemberAren’t most of the items sold on Pantybid worn items, amateur photos and dvds etc though? I wouldn’t have thought that anyone selling anything NOT banned by Paypal would really be selling on the site?

Last January when the Pantybid was re-launched, I opened it up to allow new toys and commercial videos/DVDs. There are some people selling these items there.

November 8, 2008 at 2:24 am #24091anniMemberI think you might have to make it more clear. I admit I checked out the options quite quickly, as some girls might do, and never noticed any warning, even though I now all about the hazards of paypal.
Is there a way that paypal can only be selected as a payment option if the corresponding listing is allowed on their tos? For example, when you set up a listing one of the first options is selecting the item category. Might there be a way to only have paypal available on certain item categories like toys and dvds?
It sounds like a lot of work. I definitely don’t want any more work for you, pk. 🙂
Otherwise maybe just a warning next to the paypal option or a hovering tooltip would be sufficient. OH, or maybe a required tick that explains paypal can only be used for certain items and to list the ad the person must agree not to use paypal for restricted items. This way no one can say they didn’t know.
I hope my suggestions are helpful.

Sounds fair to me. If as you say you have a disclaimer then the sellers have nobody to blame but themselves.
November 13, 2008 at 9:58 pm #24162summerresMemberi would just take it off if it was me. i would hate for miscommunication to ruin some ones funds.
but then again you are right it is sort of stating somethign we all should know.but then again i think that taking the warning labels off certain things would more then likely be benifical to our species… -
