Would You DARE…????

Hi Ladies…

I had a friend of mine visit me today. During our talk…a commercail for Dove Soap came on (you know the one about normal everyday women, etc.) and she asked me if I would DARE to have my picture taken with NO makeup…hair plain and hanigng down, etc. At first I said “Nope…not if Sir Anthony Hopkins were to come up to my doorstep to wisk me away!” (Ok major confession here…I have had MAJOR thigh sweats for Anthony Hopkins every since I saw him in “The Elephant Man” (I was working in a theater at that time, selling popcorn,soft drinks, etc.). After she left I gave it some thought. Would it really make a difference in how everyone sees me here:huh: What about you ladies reading this? Would you DARE:huh: Maybe that is something we can discuss:huh:

well i have afro hair so it would never hang down ;(

but i hardly ever wear make up so that wouldnt be a problem 🙂

I’m not a make-up girl either and my hair is short!!! I do look a damn sight better with some slap on but that means getting up earlier and thats just blasphemous!!! :unsure:

I wouldn’t because you wouldn’t see my features. My camera flash bleaches me out anyway, if I didn’t define my eyes I’d look awful!

I’ve been seen out in public before with NO make-up and completely “dressed down”…I guess it all depends on how you look at it:huh: For the ladies who don’t show your faces it desn’t matter really to you guys if you wear or don’t wear makeup…but for the ladies who DO show your face…do you think it would make a difference? (BTW…I’m NOT trying to pick on anybody for not shjowing your face in pics…just wanted to clarify my statement LOL)

Oh yeah I keep seeing that advert – gets on my bloody nerves. Yeah I have had pics taken with no make-up. I do prefer with make up though…

Well, I don’t show my face in my pics, but if I did…I have the attitude that people can take me or leave me.  In real everyday life, 90% of the time I don’t wear a drop of make up.  When I do wear it, it is because I feel like it, not because I’m afraid of or even care what other’s opinion of my appearance is.  For clothing I wear what I like & feel comfortable in, not necessarily what the latest fashion is.  I think attraction alot of the tme comes with a person’s attitude, not appearance.  A couple weeks ago I had two complete strangers come up to me & tell me how beautiful I was, on seperate days.  No make up either day, but I was feeling very happy & confident that week. My hair used to be long.  I hardly ever styled it because I liked it straight or tied back.  I coloured it now & then because I liked it that way.  Now it’s short & I chose a style that requires a quick & easy 15 seconds of my time. But I’m quite comfortable to not style it, or throw on a hat as well.  So there ya go…..me in a nut shell, lol

Real life is different to photos though. In real life I look okay, some guys say I look better and don’t need make up, but for photos you have to put extra on just to look normal, so going without for photos is like minusing your features isn’t it?

Hell yes i would.  I rarely to never wear make up anyway, and we all have our imperfections.

I very much enjoy make-up. I enjoy putting it on and taking it off. I also enjoy a good facial scrub and a nice moisturiser. Regards fashion I keep my hand in but am no victim :cheer:

On a usual day for me I dont wear makeyp when I am and about. Now a funny thing has happend since my original posting of this topic. I went on a chat last night…and turned on my webcam…no makeup…hair not washed but in a french braid and a large ratty t shirt. Peopple said I looked gorgeous. Then today (forgetting that my webcam was still hooked up to my laptop) I got back on my yahoo thing and a friend of mine saw my webcam…then another form here (Mike). I looked very plain jane and it didn’t matter really. I guess the point I was trying to make here…I know in person I could really gives 2 shits in hell if someone liked me or not…I get hit on in public enough bith with and without makeup…but as Anna said…in front of the camera is different…unless youre a natural beauty like Fetish and some others here as well. Would I still want to be in front of the camera without makeup and all? No. But thats me.

i wear lots of eye makeup because my eyes are my best feature, as for the rest, like lipstick…I just can’t find anything feels nice, doesn’t rub off and doesn’t clog my pores. I never wear base or powder because of that fact.
