Hi subjonny, No you didn’t come across as knocking anyone, just that you don’t trust payment processors which of course is fine, it’s your choice and that has to be respected.

re PayPal, I don’t think Jess was saying that she thinks eBare is less likely to go under than PayPal, it was more a case that PayPal have proved to be devious (not sure this is the right word)by charging such high fees and keeping all the money in an account in lieu of ‘fines’. 

eBare are offering a service which means we, and the buyers of course, will never be fined because they are prepared to back other adult sites, whereas as we know other payment processors won’t.

Therefore, we’d rather try out what eBare is offering than try a payment processor along the same lines as PayPal.

Well, apart from Judy that is who not only steals customers from other panty sellers seems to think that auction sites should sell her stuff for her for free!

If they’re prepared to offer a service then shouldn’t we expect to pay for the service?  You don’t get something for nothing. 

It all depends on the fees obviously…but before we start slagging people off shouldn’t we wait to see what the service and the fees actually are.

Sellers will always offer alternative methods of payment for those who don’t want to use payment processors but if the payment processor is offering a good deal then what’s the problem?  You don’t have to use them do you?

The point is that’s it’s nice to have the choice

I beg to differ Cindy – you may not be an actual payment guru but you’re close enough for me.  I’ve looked at other sites to see what their payment options are and they still have PayPal and Nochex! 

I love gifts at anytime but I’m just wondering what British Gas will say if I try and part pay my bill with a nice Rabbit  😛

Thanks for tip about asking customers to send cheques direct to  Abbey head office – I would never have thought of that in a million years. :ohmy:

Yes, Abbey confirmed the charge to handle a cheque in any currency other than sterling – the swines.  Just to correct myself – they charge me to Transfer so stands to reason the customer’s bank charges to send the payment to me.  Thanks for confirmation of that Ozzy. :kiss:

I’m bothered about PO Boxes though, the T&C state that they will give out your personal details if asked.  I’m a mum so I need to be discreet and safe.  Has anyone had any problems of that nature through PO Boxes to your knowledge?

Why is it that banks only tell you about charges when you ask? 

It doesn’t matter where I accept a Bank Transfer from – US, UK or EU, the minimum charge is £20! This is for processing as well as converting the currency where applicable.

The alternative for us in UK is we can accept one off payments through online or manual banking with no charge, but has to be within the UK.

So for overseas I guess that leaves a PO Box but it would have to be cash as again banks charge for converting currency.  Cash can be exchanged in the bureau/holiday shops but we lose out on the rate (although this is cheaper than bank’s processing fees).  :unsure:

What a complete pain!

I haven’t done the bank Transfer yet, but I consulted with my bank here in the UK (Abbey) and they said that I just needed to quote my IBAN no. (International Banking) and I could receive payments no problem.  I pretended I was going to start eBaying tee hee  :laugh:

Basically with the IBAN no. any customer could direct their bank either at the counter or online to send a payment to my account.  In the UK/EU (are we in the EU?) all I need to provide is my name, sort code and account no. to the customer who can send payment by counter/online.  That’s the theory anyway  :unsure:

Cindy, they never mentioned fees but thanks for that, I’ll pop down and double check with them, and let you know. I know some banks are more thieving than others, the Abbey are pretty good. 

If technology lets me down I’ll have to get a PO Box instead.

As far as I can see online banking is the way to go.  I can accept payments from the UK, EU and US and Canada with just a few numbers, I can see the money appear online and then post my panties, no waiting for cheques to clear.

Never thought of online gift vouchers, what an excellent idea, I’m always on Amazon or Play buying CDs DVDs and books.  Fab idea.

You’re right, my preference changes as much as the weather, cotton is comfy with lots of staining and lacy/silky little things are sexier but smellier because my kitty can’t breathe as much as with cotton.  But then it depends what I’m wearing…and the weather…sometimes I go commando if it’s really warm weather but that’s when I find I do need knickers after all because the tops of my thighs get so damp and slippery.

I’ll take a look at your blog…and give you some comments.
