Bank Transfer (BACS) is so easy for the UK and Europe and it’s safe too. Most businesses do this in mainland Europe and it is becoming really popular in the UK nowadays too.
they MUST have a signature and a printed name somewhere on their records. Can you not phone your local sorting office or post office and find out:huh: Explain that nobody was in to sign for it and yet it was on your door mat and you want to know who it was who signed for it. It is your right!
OK you said the envelope had been tampered with? Does your buyer remember resealing it or re-using an old envelope? That would be another idea to check on.
Jareal, a bank transfer is safer than writing a cheque! You dont even need to give out your name for someone to make a bank transfer (BACS) .. just your account number and sort code. If you ever have to write a cheque to someone that not only has your name but also your signature.
I believe giving out your address is far more risky than giving out part of your bank account info. (in the UK anyway)
