I’ve read the Folk of the Far Away Tree about 3 times! I love re-reading it because it takes me back to when I was a little girl and the story is so fantastic it’s easy to get caught up in the adventure (just like Harry Potter, I confess I love Harry! The last film is going to be broken into 2 movies which is annoying though!)

I’ve just finished reading 100 Years of Solitude and I can see myself revisiting it in a few years.

I love Christmas! Any excuse to get together with loved ones to party is a big tick in my book. We put the tree up on the 1st of December and take it down on the 5th of January because that’s La Befana (an Italian tradition, where a witch comes and brings the presents). I’m half french, half italian so it’s a way we remember our family’s roots by taking down the tree and having lunch together.
My sister and I also paint a reindeer (no! a papier mache one people!) together to put under the tree for decoration. Last year it was covered in a cheetah hide we’d made using glitter. Messy but super fun! I’m thinking ow a tartan theme this year.

I hate it when stores put up decorations in October(we don’t have Thanks Giving here)! It’s crazy. Also I hate stores that play carols throughout December. It’s too much cheer!

I’m glad you’re both safe. When I was living with my parents our place was broken into while I was home alone. I know what you mean about being mad, not scared. My sister was an insomniac for weeks after the break in. It’s terrible, but often petty crooks are the hard ones to catch. But karma will hunt the arseholes down.

Halloween isn’t huge in Australia like it is in the US, but it’s slowly growing. I have a terrible habit of dressing up as obscure characters that I need to explain to people. This year I want to dress as one of my favorite comic book characters, but she’s pretty arcane.
