As Cindy says, the reason it is so difficult to use credit cards for panties has to do with chargebacks. Apparently, for adult items, which all cards such as Visa, Mastercard, etc see used panties falling under, have a large amount of these charge backs. A charge back is simply someone buying something with a credit card and then disputing the charge either because they are simply an asshole or maybe their wife sees the charge and the guy says “I have no idea what that’s about” and to “prove it” they dispute the charge.
Of course the bank doesn’t lose any money because they take the payment right back from the seller plus add on a nice fee. In other words, the seller gets screwed by the person filing the false charge back and stealing the item, and then by their bank. To add to this, if you pile up enough charge backs, the merchant processor will drop you. It is pretty well stacked against the seller. Paypal and the like don’t want to pay any more fees to the credit card issuers than they already do and they definitely don’t want to lose the ability to take credit cards, so it is easier for them to just not deal with adult items. So eventhough Paypal may be losing millions of dollars by not allowing adult transactions, they know that they could risk losing everything if Visa et al. decided not to let their cards be used with Paypal.
I could set up a “wallet” solution and have it in place by tonight where buyers and sellers create an account and buyers fund their accounts by mail in check or bank transfer. The buyer simply releases funds from their account to the seller’s account. The seller can then withdraw the funds for cash. This type of system is safe and fool proof. However due to the inconvenience of having to fund the account before making payment to a seller, most (buyers and sellers) have said they wouldn’t use such a system which is why I have’t done so already.
I am actually planning on putting out some news later this week for a payment solution that many may find will work well for them. Stay tuned.

adminKeymasterYes, the video is cute. As for the place however, they are on the official and growing  Panty Hog banned list. The guy came here earlier this year and posted like 50 ads at once in the forums with nothing more than a link to his site. Then he turned around and started using the Panty Hog and Used Panty World message systems to send bulk IMs to members with the same. We had to ban him a couple of times as when we banned one, he’d create accounts from different IPs.

adminKeymasterJazzy,
I did not notice. However, some fresh topics are a wonderful idea.
😉 PK
adminKeymasterWow, that really is a bad and dangerous move to give out your home address . Don’t try that at home kids 😉

adminKeymasterEbay has always had the adult area in the US. Used panties still are not allowed even in that section. There hundreds of hard core videos with titles such as “Gangbang Rape of a Nun”, but panties are forbidden. Go figure, lol.
PK
adminKeymasterNope, it looked promising when Google was first talking about it coming out, but when it launched, they declared no adult transactions. In other words, it is about as useful as Paypal as far as the panty community is concerned.
adminKeymasterYes, you’ve always had to pay for a domain name and web hosting both. One stores your files and one sends people to your files. Just the way it is I suppose.

so I have to send my product free of charge to someone I’ve never heard of and also pay for the privilege.Jessica I’ve just witnessed many people here including the main man at Panty Trust himself spend way more time than they should have on one of the last lazy Sundays of the late summer season explaining exactly what you asked about. Bill even took your questions one by one and answered each of them thoroughly which is frankly way more than I felt was necessary. He even itemized Panty Trust’s bank statement for you. If you have actually really read any of these replies and you still walk away with what I have quoted from you above, then honestly, I think all that is left to say on this matter is… “Wow” .
By the way everyone, you can also read more information about Panty Trust including an interview with Bill in the July 2006 issue of Bizarre Magizine (http://bizarremag.com/) it is probably in their web archives by now and possibly in the old issue periodical section of your local library (depending on how “hip” your librarian is :P) .

adminKeymasterYes, that is actually Mike’s contest (and a great idea by the way). Find it on his blog. 😉

adminKeymasterJessica,
I said you were sticking both your feet up the gift horse’s ass. What this means is that of all the services to imply, as you clearly have, that there is some con behind a service whose only reason for existence is to promote you, the panty seller, and give buyers a fair shake is beyond ridiculous.
This is clearly not being a “smart consumer” as you claim. Yes, your posts here instead are seeming rather silly and I suspect your real intention here is simply to stir things up a bit.

adminKeymasterHoly Shit talk about sticking both your feet straight up the gift horse’s ass.
Wake up and look around for Christ’s sake. Aside from Panty Hog of course, Panty Trust is the only other “commercial” service that I see actually working unselfishly to give something to the Panty Community (Mike’s site and other seller’s sites/blogs too, but I’m talking services).
I was around the panty community when Panty Trust started, and you couldn’t believe the rippoffs and bad service that were the norm before they arrived. I truly believe that Panty Trust has helped sustain the used panty trade. After all, how many buyers would keep coming back if they were always getting hosed?
Even the sellers that aren’t members of Panty Trust benefit from Panty Trust in this way because the experiences the buyers have with Panty Trust members gives them the confidence to keep buying.
I can tell you by having watched Panty Trust start and grow that the people there worked tirelessly to help develop some sort of trust in this community for the sole benefit of sellers and buyers and never at any time asked for a dime from anyone until they were forced to by the actions of some unscrupulous members of the panty community.
By the way, I see plainly worded on their site that the fee for a lifetime membership (read that as Panty Trust volunteers will bust their ass nonstop to assist your buyers who may have a problem because of your mistake for as many years as you sell) is $35.00.
The $5.00 extra is a security deposit that you get back if you quit selling. Once again, Panty Trust was forced to charge this deposit to help buyers because people would quit selling, not tell them, and buyers were getting ripped off by sending money to people who no longer sold but didn’t take the five minutes to take their sites and auction me pages down.
I’ll let “Bill the con man” speak for himself, but I had to say my piece because this thread just floored me.

PS. I can help you out a bit with the “where does the money go” question. Take at look at our banner ads here at Panty Hog and then go read our advertising rates. Panty Trust has supported us by buying two spots each and every month since Panty Hog started.
adminKeymasterJust to clarify my earlier post. What I meant was that I didn’t think the site was a gag (but I could be wrong, anyone remember JImmyP?). It looks like they’ll send you a vial of something. What it is exactly that they send you is a whole different matter. I agree with what’s been said here, the idea is silly. Especially when the scent of a real woman is just a panty order away. 😉
adminKeymasterThanks for the link Love2smell. That certainly is interesting. If nothing else, I have to say the design of the site was beautiful, you wouldn’t know it by looking at Panty Hog ;), but I’m a big fan of the modern minimist look.
I may be naive, but I think that product is for real. I have no idea if it actually smells of anything remotely like a woman’s nether regions during arousal, but it seems to be real in the fact that they are selling it.
As far as the models, yes, the main one is scary. She looks like she wants to kick my ass and probably could :cheer:
