Interesting. I’ve been an active buyer for several years now. I’ve seen quite a few come and go. If you look back at the early posts in these forums you’ll see lots of hit and run sellers who disappeared never to be heard from again. I haven’t really noticed that it is any more now than usual. I think it is just that there wasn’t a place like panty hog before where new sellers had the opportunity to get noticed as easily. Before, they might post an auction and disappear, now they can actually announce their arrival.
Since new sellers actually can get noticed and get help here though, I think more have the opportunity to actually get a business established if they’re willing to put some work into it and stick it out.
As far as the prices go its the same way with any new business. A new business has to give buyers a reason to give them a try. Once they get a few sales they seem to bring their panty prices in line with the norm.
