they’ll have a form that asks a bunch of questions about your site’s content.  How much nudity, what body parts are shown, who’s doing what with whom, is there any blood involved, that sort of thing.  You fill out the form and it generates a set of “meta tags” that you copy and paste into your doc.

When somebody’s surfing the web with the right software, they can specify whether they want to see sites with your type of content, and the meta tags are how the filtering software knows what’s on your site.  It’s a good system because it leaves the actual “censorship” up to the individual user…nobody decides what your kids will or won’t see but you. Providing copies of test certificates is a good idea, but then you would have to keep having the test every few months to prove to people that you are constantly clear.? Its irrelevant if you don’t do drugs or only have one partner, you can call yourself a nun on your website if you want to but that doesnt necessarily mean you will be believed.? So to provide such up-to-date certificates, is great if you can afford it – but realistically most of us can’t.
