Of all the email we get at Panty Hog, a question that we saw almost daily since our launch was “When are you people going to add an auction venue to your site?”. Over time, we noticed a good deal of similarities in the concerns expressed regarding auctions in the email from both buyers and sellers. We have listened, worked with your suggestions, and we believe have come up with a unique auction venue for the Panty Hog community that is designed specifically to the needs and wants of the community.
One of the differences you’ll note immediately is that The Auctions at Panty Hog is a used panty/clothing related auction open only to members of the used panty fetish community. Overwhelmingly, our bidder/buyer Panty Hog members have told us that they dislike wading through a great number of auctions from commercial venders offering sex toys, videos, and other non-panty fetish items. While on a general adult auction venue, these types of auctions are appropriate and appreciated by those looking for these types of items; The Auctions at Panty Hog exist solely for amateur used panty sellers and their fans, and thus will host no commercial auction listings.
Used panty sellers have expressed concern with getting themselves noticed, restrictions on links, pricing for upgrades/featured listings, the need for separate photo hosting, and ease of use. Sellers will quickly note that The Auctions at Panty Hog are very different in this regard. Here featured sellers truly stand out. A large revolving featured ad on the auction front page spotlights only one seller at a time with a large photo and links so that buyers can confidently learn as much about you as you care to divulge. Each seller is able to create auction listings containing html (three different html editors on site), images, video, and audio, an about me page, and a store front. As always, you can promote all of your auction listings through out the entire Panty Hog site with front page news items, forum posts, etc. As with all of Panty Hog, links to more information about you are encouraged. Panty Hog is first and foremost here for the community to exchange information related to the used panty fetish, therefore, you are free to place your links anywhere you like, and you can even put links in your auction listings to your auctions on other auction sites. Separate photo hosting is not required to use The Auctions at Panty Hog. All sellers can upload their photos directly with their auction listing to be displayed in nice gallery inside their listing. If you need even more photos/video/audio, you can simply hotlink to these items in your Panty Hog member gallery so that they display in your auction ad. In the tradition of Panty Hog, there is currently no cost involved with selling or buying. Sellers are encouraged to use all of the enhancements such as featured, bold, highlighted, gallery featured, etc. freely, you can simply ignore the price indications of these services and upgrades, it’s all good, and it’s all free.
Things both sellers and buyers will notice are the layout of the auction listings. The clean layout makes it easy to see what’s up for a bid, who’s offering it, and the details of the auction. Bids are automatically shown in US dollars, British Pounds, and Euros. Sellers have many payment choices available to automatically insert in their auctions, and both sellers and buyers who use Alertpay will be pleased to find that Alertpay has been integrated with the auction. Sellers can simply add their Alertpay email address in the listing form, and when the auction ends, the buyer can pay you via Alertpay directly through the auction listing, there is no need for the seller to manually send an Alertpay payment link.
Both buyers and sellers will also notice the absence of a ban bidder and private auction feature. These functions have been deliberately turned off based upon what we’ve heard from members. If a buyer is bad enough for you to need to ban them from bidding on your auctions, why subject your fellow sellers to problems? At Panty Hog, sellers are protected from the hassle of a dead beat buyer because this person will be removed from the entire auction system (pending administrative review of the case). While some sellers often remark that private auctions are necessary to protect bidders’ privacy, buyers have told us that they often find this suspicious. Bidders and sellers are using a self-chosen, anonymous user id, not their actual name. Nothing but this username and the email address provided by the seller/bidder is known to other auction users involved in a transaction. Buyers have suggested that it is difficult to justify the privacy concerns, and instead worry about shill bidding. Experience in working with an auction that allowed hidden bids suggests that buyers’ concerns are well founded.
On the privacy and security issue, all users of the auctions can rest assured that their identifying information is kept private. Registration (separate from the Panty Hog main site) is required to view anything but the front page of the auction area. All registration and account creation is done by an actual person. Completion of the registration form and your account creation is done on a secure server that utilizes the industry standard for hand
ling sensitive information. Only your username and email address are shared with other members when you are involved in a transaction. Both buyer and seller control what information is given to the other for delivery purposes.
