Hijacking & Google Tools and Getting Noticed
I have been studying the search engines and how they perform for quite some time now. I have two very useful snippets for you to use. The first is a clever trick over at Google.com Type in the following command followed by your web title site: so my own one would be site:worn4u.com Now hit the search button, if you see any url not starting with your own address, then your information/images etc are being hijacked..
Now a very useful tool but one I promise will give you a head ache… http://roberttaft.com/no_filter.htm Enter a key word or phrase and click the Without Filter button. If you see your site well placed try the same phrase again and this time click Regular Search. If you no longer see your site as high in the rankings its because Google is implementing a filter or penalization against you.
Random example – search term ‘Used Panties’ – on Regular Search – No used panty sellers on page one, the same search without filters and Chandiespanties and Twinsusedpanties are both listed… Now what has Chandies and Twins done to receive these penalty points against them? Well probably nothing that the rest of us haven’t done and I am not singling these out. Nobody knows what the Google Gods decide from month to month but rumour has it that… Site’s that say I will link to you if you link to me are the ones being hit hardest. I am expecting my own site to suffer soon or on the next update unless I can correct this.
Another example and I have been chatting to them with permission to mention this www.saucypanties.com number 1 on Yahoo for several search strings, #1 on MSN and AOL, were number one on Google and still displaying a PR4 on the green Google toolbar but http://directory.google.com/Top/Adult/Shopping/Clothing/Used_Panties/ and a manual change has been ordered at PR0
Saucy Panties did get a reply from Google, they were told that they are still indexed but have received a penalty for their internal link structure and link to me I link to you policy, a comment was also made about having a doorway (Enter) page. What are they going to do, go all out to please Google or be happy with Yahoo, MSN and AOL.
Summary – Nobody outside of Google can really tell why we have penalties against us, some win one month and others the next, I do feel for sure that sites that will suffer over the coming months will be:
1) Sites that a reciprocal pattern develops.
2) Keyword Spamming.
3) Entry Pages (remember, a google bot reads your page not a human *hint*)
4) Poor internal linking (remember a link from your page a to b still counts as a vote)
